Tears Of Joy
Sometimes I sit in bed at night after I have prayed and I just think back to what my life was once like.
I think to the days when my life had no purpose, no direction. It was all about seeking comfort from the next drink, the next drug. I lived in quiet desperation.
I didn't really care about anyone very much as I hardly cared about myself.
Life didn't make sense. I just wanted it to be over with. The days were the same. acquiring my alcohol, acquiring my drugs and drinking and using to oblivion.
Sometimes I have tears of joy when I think that I actually lived through it all and I am here to talk about it. I have a hard time believing that was the same person when I look back.
Today I have such peace every single day. I am so at ease. I can be alone and doing nothing and feel joy.
No longer restless irritable and discontent. No longer angry at the world.
God has removed the obsession to drink and drug from me, but it didn't happen until I fully surrendered. Until I finally said ok God my way doesn't work anymore. You take the wheel.
It's the day when I got honest.
When I did that the miracle began to happen.
Thank you God!

Memorial Day in Canada
Memorial Day is observed together with Canada Day in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador on July 1 each year. Memorial Day commemorates the brave efforts of the province’s veterans, particularly those who participated in World War I.
Canada Day celebrates the birthday of Canada. On July 1, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its own constitution by signing the Constitution Act (formerly known as the British North America Act).
