Thanks for the hugs Nel! I am relaxed and happy because I am out of work for the summer. My patio is covered with potted flowers where I can sit (if it ever stops raining) and drink my iced tea and coffee. I hope I don't ever have to give up caffeine! I remember how sorry I felt for myself that I couldn't drink wine on my patio last summer. It seems a little silly now that it bothered me so much but I know you all understand. It's so much easier now which I am grateful for. Life continues to be filled with craziness and problems but I'm trying to use that old AA saying, Let go and let God. I can't change or control circumstances, the economy, declining health, or my kid's adult choices. I have to roll along sober!! Have a great week , I love you all and appreciate the support I get here.

Just before a big party do last Friday night, free bar , band lots of drunks etc etc.

Best night I ever had , felt so in the zone and loved feeling like I did. Zero cravings as all drank around me , in fact I felt nothing but smugness and pity for them that was drinking of course these feeling where in my head lol.

As I have said before , there is nothing better than been surrounded by people drinking quite heavily and looking at bloated men with glazed red eyes to make you realise that * you* are the special and über cool one.

Things are getting better and better, feel like a bit of a kid at times who is experiencing every thing for the first time .

Have a great week all , off to gym for treadmill punishment

Awesome post DD, I so totally get that feeling you described about experiencing everything for the first time, thats exactly how I feel..I feel happy and alive! Did I mention I'm into hula hooping yep I'm not very good but I been practicing a lot and have learned several trick...Its great exercise for me and its super fun! I bought a LED hula hoop last night its going to be so much fun! Its my 6 month sobriety present to myself Well gang hope to hear from some of you soon, lots of love Nell♥

Love what you wrote, DD! Loved the costume as well You reach a point where you can just observe the other drinkers and think "hey, that used to be me". Never want to go back to that. Never, ever again.
Keep that hoopin' up, Nel! Great exercise and great fun.
All's good here, prepping for my son's graduation and enjoying the beautiful weather.
No complaints. Life is very, very good. Sober life, that is!

Hey class! SUmmer greetings from the north :-) All good here on the sobriety front, in fact I love that alcohol is just not on the agenda any more. I never think of it these days and that is something I did not think would be my reality just a year ago in the first months of sobriety wondering if it would ever go away

Great post DD and good luck with the graduation fixit! Nel, big big gigantamungus congrats on your 6 months

Now out to do more gardening :-)

Hi all,
just wanted to say hello.
Had crazy few weeks.
Drank a few weekends ago after 5 months off, thought ok I can moderate.
wrong, head was all over place that week with thoughts off drink.
Drank next weekend again and that ended in week long binge, add week of sickness and no sleep and I'm half back to normal.
Dropped back on meetings and was only doing 1 a week, think that's what happened I half planned the rip.
Been back AA more this last week and found a sponsor.
Feeling positive about sober life again, so hopefully get it this time.
So hard times.
On positive note was at Irish wedding yesterday and there was rivers off drink flowing as you can expect, I had a plan in place and ended up having fantastic sober day.
