by request, i'll happily share with folks who may be trying this for the first time that it gets better!!! now to elaborate: if you can stay sober 24 more hours you won't have to worry about embarrassing yourself because you are drunk. embarrassing yourself sober, that's just funny, not pathetic, I do it all the time.

if you hang in for another 24 you won't have to worry about the safety of driving your car on a whim. and that whim WON'T be to buy more booze.

if you do another 24, you will have more room for dessert!

if you do another 24 with us, you will be in good company.

I don't have a lot of time, 54 days or so. i'm not on a pink cloud, I don't see unicorns. but I feel a heck of a lot better. I can taste my food. I don't get stomach aches. i don't get crippling anxiety out of nowhere.

So,Today I celebrated 30 days clean and sober from painpills, alcohol, etc., etc.,!!
I am such an addict... went through this in 1999, but once again, due to prescribed painpills, ended up addicted!
I am so glad to have found SR.. this recovery is easier... I am doing it 24 hours at a time, instead of "forever"... amazing what the AA oldtimers knew.
Almost 10pm here... coldddd.... more snow called for tomorrow....

AV tried to make a plan for me yesterday...telling me tonight I had no activities to bring the kids to and wouldn't it be nice to relax with some wine...not going to listen to that voice. No it would not be nice to sneak wine into my house and I know it would never be just one, I would end up feeling guilty and horrible, the negative list goes on and on...No that doesn't sound relaxing at all! Instead for the next 24 I will refuse those urges and enjoy my children and my life on life's terms. I will relax in healthy ways and be the person and mother I know I truly am.
