Damn I should have waited 2 more minutes and I've have got shotgun :p

Sorry just had to comment I usually avoid commenting on the news as it really annoys the $hit out of me.

I suppose I am lucky June in that all my embarrassing/hopeless moments (apart from 1) were in my own home so I only have myself and my partner to apologise too

Still having a little rage this morning made me feel a bit better :p

Good Morning everyone

Hope you all have a beautiful day and look after yourselves, cos your worth it

Lots of talk about anxiety, when I was drinking that used to be the pits! Couldnt bring myself to make phone calls to anyone, friends, family, banks...no one, it all seemed such a BIG deal somehow...real paranoia in my head, at least it seemed that way.
Absolutely amazed how different it is now, confidence has flowed back and these things dont seem to bother me at all...yet another benefit in the very long list of benefits to be gained from not picking up that first drink.
O and by the by sleeping does improve, and waking up with a clear conscience is priceless
Good advice for clight reference meetings and good on you Panache for going to yours
not something I am considering for myself, have been in previous attempts, but of course the option is always there....an open mind and all that....its what works for each one of us thats important at the end of the day.
Panache, you remind me of my youngest daughter, she "emigrated to Liverpool" from here in Kent about 4 years ago, now speaks in broad scouse....had a budgie called Torres!!
She is a manager of a betting shop, that rhymes with pills, very near the famous cavern.

Anyhoo peeps please, please look after yourselves and kick those urges where it hurts!!

Mick

Oh what a lovely sunny morning here. Day 6 and of course we have a funeral here this morning.
Anyhow seen my counselor yesterday and asked if it was possible to see someone else and guess what they are organising for me to see a psychologist in the next week. I am actual delighted with that because I feel I need to get to the root of why I was drinking so heavy in the first place.
No urges to drink so far but my problem was always from Thursday to Sunday nights. I feel sometimes I have so much to add and say and then when I get typing nothing, shyness takes over. Love reading you'r post and understand how different and yet similar we all are sisters and brothers fighting the demon drink.
ok time to get ready for funeral. keep safe and sober guys.

I don't know what it's like in drop bear country where Dee lives but it's c-o-l-d here, just 16C tonight! Black I hope that your day goes as well as possible.

Do you think 57 is too old to learn the piano if you can't read music or play another instrument? Of course I would have to find a piano to play. ...

March on Marchers, have a great day/night.

Hi,
Hope you`re all ok. Black I really hope you manage today ok.
I`m feeling really low today, remembering some of the things I`ve said when I`m drunk is awful! I have rung the addiction councillor and have an appointment for 12:30 Monday-a week earlier than I was going to. I need to get myself sorted-I don`t want to go back and end up sad and lonely.
Going out later to stop myself thinking too much. Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all...

Good luck today Black...

Chuff - I have the same problem with telephones, irrational. I'm also improving on that front (a little!)

Marcher - I was watching my kids play piano yesterday and started thinking about having another go at it... LOL, I'll never catch them but it's fun to try.

Chin up sandgirl - put the regrets/remorse behind you, we all have them. Just try not to add to them!

-4C here this morning. A little snow forecast...

Good morning, Marchers!

Just slightly chilly here - 26F and beautifully sunny :-). Doing well, staying sober and loving it.

Northlander, that photo of the 3 dogs (wolves?) is priceless!

Insomnia - so many are having trouble with that. As an insomniac for many years, I can say that there are many causes. Detoxing from alcohol is a big one, anxiety is another. Poor "sleep hygiene" is a third. And I'm sure there must be others. So if it doesn't go away after you've been sober for awhile, consider the other reasons.

Have a good day to all.

Sassy

Another Brentism:

'This is the accounts department, the number bods. Do not be fooled by their job descriptions, they are absolutely mad, all of 'em. Especially that one, he's mental. Not literally of course, that wouldn't work. Last place you'd want someone like that is in accounts... '

Decent little walk, now time to plow on with some work, hope you're all well.

Sandgirl, I've been having plenty of mood swings...

One day I feel great and the next I'm crying in my cereal bowl.

I hope it's another thing that evens out.
