Way to go Marcher13! What a great victory!
I made it thru the night with 3 teen girls......dinner out was good and I had hot Chinese tea, not wine! Victory! Then to the hotel and we set up the movie player and watched Pitch Perfect. I enjoyed the girls and the movie and not drinking Then they wanted to go to sleep. At midnight! I read this thread until 1 and went to sleep.
We really can do this. I really wanted to drink after I got home this afternoon. I napped instead. Then wanted to drink this evening. And tonight. But you all were in my mod and I rode it out. 14 days done! Wow! I can't remember the last time that happened!
Keep posting everyone.....I love reading them. I see myself in so many of them.
Time to sleep for me. Don't forget to change your clocks in the USA (except AZ). I hate it, so stupid and messes me up. Oh well, at least I will wake up without a hangover this time!

Congrats Marcher! I know that had to be a tough day. It's amazing how much other people simply do not care or pay attention to whether I drink or not. Turns out my friends really don't care - in fact, they like me just as I am. No alcohol needed. :-)

Happy Sunday morning, how nice to be sober for Mother's Day! My son and I made his mummy a coffee and took her card and flowers up to her in bed. My son has a rugby match first thing then off to visit my mum and dad, I'm looking forward to seeing them and them seeing me with clear eyes.
Newday, Die Hard was a very good film, worth watching, totally unbelievable of course but I guess that's the fun part. Some guy behind us kept reading the subtitles out loud and making grunting noises all through the film. Good job I was sober but I still wanted to ring his neck lol.

I hope you all don't mind me joining here. I need to get caught up here and read some of your posts.
Anyway i am getting sober again. This time i mean it. I amnot doing this with one foot in one foot out. I think i will die if i don't stop.
Last night was horrible, i drank halfa bottle of vodka and then drove to a bar. I am so mad at myself. I did walk home but it was raining and cold and just sucked. I spent all day puking, crying, and trying to sleep off this hangover. My son is 4 and seen this, i am so sad with myself. So today is day 1. I am stopping forever this time. I used to always say i could drink once and awhile or maybe only at parties. I rationalized my drinking. No more. It can not work. Its all or nothing.
Now i can't sleep and its almost 1am. I know i can't sleep because i slept all day.

Needtostopthis, this time you CAN do this. The support on this thread is priceless, make sure you stay close and post often. That is what is helping me. I probably spend far too much time on this site but it is so worth it!!

You will dave. I did Day 1 Friday, then again yesterday, today is Day 2 and tomorrow ... 
Tell AV to get nicked, read around the threads and gather strength. Have you got something special for you -- some tea you like, a program on telly, a walk? Anything a tiny bit special to make you feel good.

Hey Dave I feel your frustration, I have had so many day 1's its not funny. Day 4 is my hurdle too, but I did it this week, you can too. You came back, that is the main thing. We are cheering you on, post when you hear the AV.

Chanty, sorry I was meant to reply earlier, works ok thanks I managed to blag the day i had off with a little white lie. Naughty I know but I still have a job, don't think I dare take anymore time off and hopefully I'll never have to now I'm a non drinker. :-) hope things are good with you hun!
