Class Of September 2012 Part 8

Well checking in toward the end of day 61 and all is mainly calm form me right now.
Did my usual weekend meetings and received my 2 month chip which was cool. While I would not say its been an easy time over the last week the idea of a drink making it better or even being considered never really surfaced. The obsession seems to have gone at least for today and that's a nice change.
Hopefully the recovery from the storms of Sandy and alcohol will continue for everyone.
I am finishing step 3 and heading to Step 4 and can see I may find this step a challenge. From my journal I can see I have some deep resentments , some lasting many years. I expect a pretty full inventory as I have never done a proper Step 4 before and after more than a few decades I have a few items in stock.... I can face the challenge and the issues as it surely could not be as horrible as my last withdrawal.
I have to wait a few weeks for results on a test that started Friday that could change things for me in a big way. I know I have the supports in place both on line and face to face to deal with any bad news.
So hope everyone has a good start to their week.

I am on the podium this morning and feeling great. (This is the podium Twestlie).
No drink all weekend, now 9 weeks, this is my 65th day.
I look forward to seeing all you step on the podium as well.
If you have slipped up, don't worry, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
If I can do it, you all can do it.
Remember, I can drink if I want to, I just don't want to.

Keep at it folks.If you have "slipped" and fallen down,pick yourself up and get back at it!!! Being here shows me your desire to be sober.You CAN do this.Nobody says it will be easy but we must learn from our mistakes and build on our character off of them.
Be thankful for your time sober and focus-focus-focus on all the truly quality time you have while your head is clear.Life is tough enough without going through it with a foggy mind.So much to live for.

A huge congrats to all who are standing on the podium! This is the first time since Jim coined the phrase that I am not there with you. I don't like it one bit! It is crystal clear to me how I let my AV win without a fight and I have a new knowledge of how the AV works. I know that I will be on the podium next week!!!

Jimuk seems to have disappeared off the forum. Hope he's ok.
Podium dance for me too. I'm in bed, chilling out and drinking tea. It's funny, during my drinking/drugging days, if I ever took painkillers or cold & flu medecine, they'd have to be the strongest, max strength ones to have any effect on me. Now I can take the normal, mild ones and they work perfectly.

Happy Monday all and congrats on the many milestones!
Leaving on vacation tmw for four weeks. Will be checking in regularly for your encouragement and support as holidays and booze have always gone hand in hand for me. Not this time though.
