My neighbor just called.
We are going out for a ride on our motorcycles.
I am going through the strongest urge in 3 weeks.
I'll be out riding and will probably stop for a beer.
Oh boy.

If I fall, I hope I'm still welcome here.

Oh Dan, that's a bit of a dangerous combination, beer and a motorbike!

It would be a pity to go back to square one again after how far you've come. Urges pass quickly. Please be strong, tell you friend not to stop at any bars etc, you'll be glad tomorrow.

Thinking of you

Thank You Grace. You were right, as soon as I got on the bike I knew I wouldn't be drinking. It passed like hitting a light switch.
I'm gonna clear 3 weeks...
But at the time of the last post, I was convinced the streak was over....

Hi again

Just checking in before bed so I can keep an eye on you Dan!!!! I'm so very pleased that you didn't cave. Someone here on S.R told me that when you get that craving, concentrate on something else as hard as you can and the urge will pass within 20 minutes. I've tried it and it worked!!!

I'm proud of you, well done and keep at it.

Big hugs

Gxxx

Good Morning all! Don't look down, don't look back, just look enough in front to not trip. Take a few steps at a time. Don't compare. Walk your own walk. Be your own personal best. We are all in this together. Together we will do this. Today, we will do this.

Back from another sober gig...
I was talking with a friend who said he stopped for 2 years. I cannot fathom that, but I asked what happened when he had his first drink again. He said he was having an argument with his lady.
Wow... 2 years vested and that's what it took. It must have been pretty upsetting at the time.
He had a drink in his hand and he looked at it and said "I gotta say that I really do enjoy this, though..."
The urge didn't appear for me, though I remember enjoying it, too.
I suppose as long as I'm enjoying this side of the fence, I'll hang out here for a while.
