I must read Under the Influence, it has been spoken about so many times on this forum.
I'm still working my way through the Harry Bosch series (LAPD detective) I like to shut my mind off when I go to bed

there are 2 -'the easy way to stop drinking'-though i struggled to get this in the uk so got 'the easy way to control alcohol'
I'm in. Another day 1, the last one I plan on having.
Had 10 days in September and got side tracked, or started feeling healthy again and somehow convinced myself to do that moderation experiment again with a usual result.

Morning to ya all.
Being southern hemisphere I'm way out of sync with the majority of you guys. So I'm up to a spring morning and I'm knocked out by the activity while I've been asleep. Hi to all the new people, I'll try to get back to some more specific replies over the course of my day.
Reading is good.....and I've done plenty with the bottle of merlot steadily diminishing and the hour getting later. And later. So many bad habits.
okay, best of all,
later

Morning canguy
I'm off to bed in a bit, to wake up to an autumn morning. They are quite lovely and sunny at the moment at least.
JimJim hope you enjoyed your walk and got home whiskey free!
Day 7 in the bag, I think that's my first week sober since early August. I'm happy but I wish I'd done it without feeling ill (if that makes sense?!) Seemed too easy when 2 whole days were pretty much spent in bed and another 2 just bleugh. I know the work is yet to come.
I made a couple more posts on the SMART website this evening. I need to get more into that forum and program. That'll be my plan for week 2.
What a fantastic start to the October thread

I made it four nights and onto day 5. I made it a week a few years ago, but other than that, I don't think I've had more than 2 days (very rarely) in as long as I can remember. I slept last night, hurray! First night, no sleep. Second, troubled, nightmare sleep. Third, wide awake, and then blessed sleep!
I'm feeling pretty good, and more determined than anything. Other times I have been all about holding the monster at bay. This time, I feel much more positive, proud and eager to face my new life.

….Hi Cheese, how dja go with the evening?
JimJim…..my plan, I have a lot of things I want to do in life. Alcohol is stopping me from getting them happening. Hungover, I'm just listlessly hanging around for the next drinks. This month I want to finish a painting.
Octoberite, groovechick….hi , and uninvited and elderine Hobbies important I think….I do them drinking, but sooo slowly.
Gigabit, are links okay here? I guess they'll take it down if not.
Try here: http://sfzc.org/sp_download/2010_buddhism_12steps.pdf
Uninvited…..sleep is hard for me too. I wake early and in a sudden panic that
I'm alone in the bed, after nine months of it….it's still hard.
Anyway, all the best to all of we Octosobers
