The Allen Carr book is one of his easyway series and called Easy Way to Control Alcohol.

I must read Under the Influence, it has been spoken about so many times on this forum.

I'm still working my way through the Harry Bosch series (LAPD detective) I like to shut my mind off when I go to bed

I'm in. Another day 1, the last one I plan on having.

Had 10 days in September and got side tracked, or started feeling healthy again and somehow convinced myself to do that moderation experiment again with a usual result.

Will not buy whiskey tonight... gonna take a walk. Will check back in. Fresh night air is what's needed.

JimJim. I know substituting one vice for another is not wise, but ICE CREAM might get help this week.

Morning to ya all.
Being southern hemisphere I'm way out of sync with the majority of you guys. So I'm up to a spring morning and I'm knocked out by the activity while I've been asleep. Hi to all the new people, I'll try to get back to some more specific replies over the course of my day.
Reading is good.....and I've done plenty with the bottle of merlot steadily diminishing and the hour getting later. And later. So many bad habits.

okay, best of all,
later

Morning canguy

I'm off to bed in a bit, to wake up to an autumn morning. They are quite lovely and sunny at the moment at least.

JimJim hope you enjoyed your walk and got home whiskey free!

Day 7 in the bag, I think that's my first week sober since early August. I'm happy but I wish I'd done it without feeling ill (if that makes sense?!) Seemed too easy when 2 whole days were pretty much spent in bed and another 2 just bleugh. I know the work is yet to come.

I made a couple more posts on the SMART website this evening. I need to get more into that forum and program. That'll be my plan for week 2.

What a fantastic start to the October thread

Ouch. I think I'm following your path. First night no sleep. Second night troubled nightmare sleep. I'm on night 3 and wide awake sounds like its going to make it pretty damn hard to go to work at 7am tomorrow. Let's hope the mile I ran will tire me out and let me catch a few winks.

Thumbs up

….Hi Cheese, how dja go with the evening?

JimJim…..my plan, I have a lot of things I want to do in life. Alcohol is stopping me from getting them happening. Hungover, I'm just listlessly hanging around for the next drinks. This month I want to finish a painting.

Octoberite, groovechick….hi , and uninvited and elderine Hobbies important I think….I do them drinking, but sooo slowly.

Gigabit, are links okay here? I guess they'll take it down if not.
Try here: http://sfzc.org/sp_download/2010_buddhism_12steps.pdf

Uninvited…..sleep is hard for me too. I wake early and in a sudden panic that
I'm alone in the bed, after nine months of it….it's still hard.

Anyway, all the best to all of we Octosobers

links are generally ok providing they're not going offend others, they're not commercial, or they're nothing you have a vested interest in
