Putting day 3 to bed..... I'm tired, real tired. I had some pretty big moments earlier this afternoon... Excessively tired made me want to cry. And talk myself into a drink. I didn't do it. I rode it out and now here I am. Reading posts and getting ready for bed. Thanks sr. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 2 days without you! Xoxox peace out

So glad that you are still on track DB. Even if your day didn't quite go as hoped.

Thanks SBTS: I kinda felt down everyone assumed it was a relapse; understandable of course yet it was pretty innocent...I just wanted to address each of you and time didnt allow...

Love you all. Tomorrow I should have time before my friend comes for dinner. I did most of the cooking tonight!

I'm sorry your days been hard, but I'm thrilled you're sober DB

Don't be too hard on us tho

We're a recovery site - we deal with relapse a lot.

It doesn't mean people don't believe in you - not at all - it's just an inner recognition, if you like, of how hard this road is most of us

Oh Dee, the road is hard, I'm part of that group! Just want people to know a day can be wonky and, wow, it *can* be related to something other than our disease !

Bed for me now and hopefully some time to catch up with my friends in the am. Bless all of you.

End of day 25 and feel like I might be gettin sick. I was around my mom who has a bad flu/cold and felt a lil sick thru out the day. Hopefully I don't end up getting full blown sick and having to miss work.

Hey guys, day 20 here. I passed a bar today driving in a city all by myself and had a couple hours to kill, who would know if I had "just one cold one" right, but I remembered Dee's wise words to decide to make the change "Just do it man!". If all these graduates before us can do this so can we, %$#@%$.

You guys can absolutely do it - I was an all day everyday drinker for 5 years...I didn't know how I could ever live without the booze...but I did...a day at time is all it takes
to get started

Hope you stay healthy BF

Great reminder, Mirrorman.

Tonight I went to a celebration work function, and everyone was drinking. I had water, felt okay about it. Had a cupcake and felt very okay about that! I'm relieved it wasn't a big deal.

Good night, everyone. See you tomorrow...

Does suddenly not drinking kill you? I feel electric, everything is so vivid - colours smells sensations! Do you have a heart attack because you're overwhelmed?

With luck I'll become the man I always thought I would be! Such a shame my heavy drinking mother died before she could see me - I'm doing this for you Mum!

Welcome driftapart, it does get better as time passes. I find a relaxing bath and hot milk works for me. I also have a warm bottle on my back to releave back pain, i think that helps me sleep too.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jim. I haven't had a glass of hot milk since I was 6 years old. I'm gonna go heat some now. Lol.

Hi everyone!! Not had chance yet to read through the posts as not been on yesterday however will take some time (in work to have a catch up later! Day 12 for me!! Cannot believe I am on double figures and how fast it has gone.....still not socialised but im finding the cravings a lot easier. Even had quite a big argument with my boyfriend last night and managed to smoke a cigarette and calm down AND not touch a drop!!

He did throw in my face 'Just go and have a drink which is what you want to do' which really upset me, after I threw my keys at him :/ we were ok!!

Hope you are all doing well, will catch up on some posts later

Nothing personal, it was just the way your post was worded. Short, extremely vague posts that sound really despairing, to the effect of "nothing is as it should be" tend to often be code for relapse on this site, I feel.

Day 20 for me today... I'm happy about that, but it's not starting off great at the moment. I woke up at 5am (an hour before I needed to) and couldn't get back to sleep, plus my husband's not going to work today which means I have to walk to the train station in the rain. The good news is I only have to work until 2pm, so I'll be home by 4.

Have a good day everyone... xx
