Coming up on 2 weeks since my 'slip'. Urges to drink come and go, but I have been able to navigate through…without drinking.
Feeling a bit 'meh' myself.

How come the class of Dec 2010 only has 9 threads and we are on 8 already? Day 59. Too busy at work today for any urges to drink. Running a 5 mile race in the morning. Expect to come in close to last but have fun.

1) might be faster than we are
Or
2) we have loads more fun while we're getting and staying sober

Well I'm in LA. Going out with friends tonight. I am in a good place today. They are planning on bar hopping a little tonight. I have so much fun with them. Don't worry, I feel strong, don't even want a drink now. My friends are drinking by the pool and I am having a diet coke. I think my execise last night helped.

and in all seriousness...although it's tough to think about it, most threads do slow down...ppl move on or, sadly, drop out...so that's probably why.

HRB. I don't think you can upload from an iPhone. You can only post it through a link eg if the picture was posted on Flickr you'd post the Flickr link by clicking on the Mountain picture above the message box

pink, congrats on 2 fresh weeks, that's huge getting back to it!
lee, you couldn't be more right. a drink will never make things better for us again. just neutral to worse, to very worse. i remember so many times thinking, "there's no joy in this anymore. why the heck do i still drink?"
OLL, hope you got through the evening safe and happy.
your comments remind me of something a friend told me, that two key elements in keeping sober are 1) believing in something bigger than yourself and 2)rigorous honesty including telling on yourself when you want to drink. She said that alcoholism feeds on shame and secrecy. When you shed light on it, it scatters like roaches. Yucky image, but i have to admit i like the idea of alcoholism breaking up and scattering in fear!
