Let me jump into the March 2012 class. This is my second day sober and I'm feeling pretty jumpy. Thanks to 2 hot dogs I made it home without stopping for booze

Now I'm trying to chill with some chamomile tea and then I'll work out. I found that working out really helps. I've stopped drinking on and off for the past 6 months, I've lost 38 pounds and I'm in much better health. I decided it's time to stop for good after going on a 3 day binge this past weekend.

I went to my first AA meeting yesterday in a many years and it was a beginners meeting ..... it felt wonderful to be there!

Day 8

Today was a rough one. My usual urge to drink after a busy day at work was fierce today. Instead, I drove straight home, changed and went on the treadmill.

The urge has passed and am so grateful to end the day sober.

Hey Healthyfood, I am on Day 6, all is good except as you mention above. Mood

Now you have to picture this, I am a good sized tough guy (6'.1" 180 pounds) and find myself crying my eyes out over Gnomeo and Juliet, whats up with that..it better improve or I will never be able to hang out with the guys again.

Hey Marchers! How goes it??

Sorry I couldn't get on this morning much... at a safety conference for work for the next few days - learning so good stuff and all.

Had a brief moment yesterday when I was coming back from the store that I 'should' pick up something to drink... since I'll have the hotel room all by myself'. I was like 'heck, no - I'm totally not going to do that!' Strange though.... So today is day 27.

Feeling sluggish, but better than what I have the last several days with some stomach virus thing.

Welcome to all the newbies!!! So glad you decided to join us

And to the the oldbies - glad you're still marching to the tune of a different drummer inside!!

I'll try to catch you all in the morning before I head out to more classes.

Peace.

Oh, Dee... thanks for the new link, but that link on the last site - doesn't work so hot. It just took me back to the main menu... I knew where to look though - but others might not?? Probably just me

Hello everyone, I am a rejoining Marcher. I fell out big time getting high off Ambien. well, I didn't fall out, i knew what I was doing. I am onn my 3rd day sober, the withdrawals are bad. Nothing is worth this level of anxiety.
Reading this thread helps me a lot, thank you.

Wrapping up Day 22 here and still going strong in spite of a bad case of bronchitis, a grouchy husband and a teenager (need I say more?). Got some much needed errands done, went to AA, did a little housework and cooked dinner even though I can't stop coughing to save my life. Back in the day, my "nurse" would've been Jack Daniels but now it's a steaming cup of tea with honey and lemon. It's working rather nicely.

Tomorrow I'll be taking the teenager on a 4-hour round trip shopping expedition. We live in a fairly small resort town and there's no such thing as a Walmart, Best Buy, or a mall here, so we're excited to get out of here for a little retail therapy. Look out, Old Navy, here I come.

Hope all of you had a great day and a better one tomorrow. Keep on keepin' on. I think of you all every day and pray that you continue on a happy, healthy, sober journey.

Today has been really, really hard and i almost lost my sobriety but i worked it minute by minute and between family, AA, my sponsor and y'all i made it. These next couple of months are going to suck but at least they'll suck sober. Keep on truckin' Marchers.

thanks D. Maybe my withdrawal has had to be so bad so that I would take my abuse of ambien seriously. well, in any case, it has helped me see how I've been poisoning myself and minimizing my abuse of ambien. I though I was sober because I wasn't drinking nightly and taking valium daily..........well, I'm gonna give myself a chance to truly experience sobriety now!

Hey pattylulu. I abused ambien as well. A month script would last me a week at best. That with alcohol nearley killed me. Hope you can get off that crap asap. It's scary stuff.
