I feel quite fortunate with a 4 mile commute to work.

When i divorced the 1st Mr. Fandy (RIP or most likely roasting his toes he was so evil)..i hooked up with a good real estate agent lady who kept referring to me as a 'young DEEVORSAY"...she found me a great townhouse in a good neighborhood, walking distance to good public schools and closeby shopping and 4 miles from my job so i could get home quickly to not have to pay a babysitter forever. I never regretted cutting down the commute...it gave me an extra 5 free hours a week...

after work i taught my daughter to ride a bike, shoot hoops and we both worked our way through tennis...( i hated that one)...then she hit age 13 and i took up gardening so i wouldn't commit homicide on her.....:rotfxko

Petrol here(NZ) is the equivalent of $4.20 a gallon there.... double yikes!!!!
And I seem to be using more now I'm not working...will have to start having car free days...

Apart from that, can't complain too much, lovely walk in the park this morning and still warm eventhough its autumn now.

Have a great day whiners.

Phewww, I just caught up and want you all to know that I read each and every whine from when I left in Part 52 to here.

Teach, that stinks.

Zipperman, a pox on anyone who messes with your heart.

Bam, glad things are getting better for you.

Least, I've missed your whining most of all, I think

Fandy, tidy threads of exactly 500 posts please me too.

MM...keeping you in my prayers that the judge shows mercy.

Newby, Patt and Steve....thanks for the *snirkles* , it's good when whines can make us *snirkle*.

Anyone I missed....forgive me, I am old and I am tired....just a walking whine.

CMC...I shouted for you over the smoke of a forest fire!!!

Which brings me to my whine...we got stuck on the highway (I-95 by St. Augustine) in the middle of a forest fire. At first it was kinda funny (well these things ARE funny when you are a first class whiner, yes? I KNEW the potential for a good whine was being met).

All traffic was stopped. they closed the highway ahead of us and behind us but nobody told us diddly about how to get out of this...they were too busy fighting the fire. There we were stuck with big trucks ahead of us and behind us...I took pictures until Bubba gave me that "put the camera away before I toss it out the window" look....much like the hairy eye-ball.

We finally just put our trust in our Rav4 SUV and drove over the medium, through a couple of somewhat swampy fields, through a gathering of rednecks (none of them with banjos) and finally to another little road that led us out of there.

I am glad to be home and will catch up more once I get unpacked and all my laundry out of the way...more whines to follow.

Ann - glad you're back, safe and sound and whiney as ever.

Least - were you affected by the floods? I saw Findlay on the news, but I know you're not near there.

The weather person said - with delight - that it will be returning to cold temperatures again tomorrow. If only he wouldn't give that evil little smile.

I saw 3.55 today. Yuck!

I'm self employed so work all over...but my most common destination is about 15 miles one way, so that's not too bad.

We had some serious flooding in a few low lying areas, one quite close to me. The people had to be rescued and their cars and homes are a real mess, maybe damaged beyond repair. I got water running into the bsmt but not enough to overwhelm the bsmt drain. We had a very bad flood over 40 yrs ago where the water was six feet high at the lowest point in town. These floods are nothing compared to that, and these were bad enough.

I am disappointed. Is that a whine? I bought a new suitcase because my old one is ripped at the corner and I now realize that it is too big. Must measure 62 inches. I know that if I tried to use this one that they would charge me for being oversized. Says it is a 29in. Probably why it was at the second hand store for such a steal and in almost new shape.

this whine won't wait until a decent hour...

i was peacefully sleeping until i was awakened by a big smash to my face! one of the cats slipped on his leap to the top of the headboard...resulting in a fat cat buttisimo landing on my FACE....i think i may have a black eye out of this.....the culprit ran off but it felt like a Pookie butt...hard and muscle pounding my eye socket.

i amn off from work today!!!! there is no need to be up at 4AM!!!!

Ann that was a quick trip home...glad you are safe and not singed from the fires.

i am going back to bed...stupid cats....

Ohhh I love a good whine fest.
It's past 6 in the morning and I CANNOT sleep. I have to be up at 10 and I have a very busy day tomorrow. No room for even a 15 minute nap! Grrr.
And speaking of gas, I have to drive 30 minutes to and from therapy tonight. I have no gas in my car, no money on me, and prices here are $3.60/gallon!

Mornin' Whiners......................

YAY! ANN'S BACK! Glad you had a safe trip home. Great to see you back.

L2T - yeah we saw the old one, wasn't that one of your avatars a few weeks back?

Fands - Kitty bum in face....hmmmmm.... put a whole new meaning to butt head eh!

Zips - Whine Shriner Hat, where ever do I get one? I'm sure they have to be quite fashionabe! And ohhhh the Fourth is with me allright!

I think the Whiner Shriner Hat and the Fourth have joined forces. AhhhhhHaaaa!

My whine..... Didn't get the op to make my Bedtime Grats last night. Had a counseling appt @ 7PM and by the time I got out of there and homework with the kiddos out of the way I was exhausted!!! Thank God for new days!
