Hi everyone, I thought I'd pop back in here and see how you all are doing. I am on day 52 but it seemed to take forever to get to day 30. But I did it! And then the days just flew. You are all doing great! Keep it up.

Way to go DB!!

Just surviving the lunch hour over here (my bane), and waiting for about 15 more minutes to pass then I'll be ok. Working on #3 today.

Day 19 and thought i would say summut more. Just returned from the local corner shop where i used to banter with and purchase alcohol from the owners at least once a week (sometimes i guess as much as 4/5 or even 6!) for probably the last 4 years. This is the first time i have been since i quit boozing.

I had not been looking forward to it.

I went and bought 2 bottles of pepsi.

True to form the experience was difficult.

Some say the ting takes a while to sink in (realization of where you were before you took [it] out of your system) and i can see that.

Oh well that's another first quashed.

kevin
ps dee i have a number for alcohol services in my area but the thing is i seem to have little panics about recovery then i feel fine so when im feeling fine im not so sure about fussing. Have been giving AA some more though. Perhaps when im 3 weeks on the wagon (saturday) I will feel more able to face an AA session.

Hi all, day 20 for me, not feeling great the past couple days. I thought my motivation was returning but it seems I hit a wall here. I'm bored, tired, headachy, and for whatever reason I feel angry a lot, and very irritable. I have a party to go to very soon, can't get out of it, and I'm so not looking forward to a test this early in. Anyway, I'm trudging along, praying I start feeling good again. Hope everybody is doing well. Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm a big believer in support but I think that means different things to each of us Kevin.
For me, SR has been enough to keep me on the straight and narrow, but others find real life support is very useful.

Why not just hang on to the numbers - if you ever need them, you know they're there.
I'm not in AA either but it probably can't hurt to take a look - they don't lock the doors or anything LOL

Day 20 a good day. Not much else to say really. Perhaps i could add that 20 days feels like a landmark so helpful to my recovery.

Congrats pennywhistle!

Kevin, 20 days is huge. Keep it up!

Some days will be great, some average, and some less than, but that is life. We are learning every day how to face life without alcohol. It is scary sometimes, but we must do it!

day 21 3 weeks in recovery. need a haircut but i am anticipating that 'what do you do for a living'(im not working) sort of scrutiny means i really dont want to go get it cut.

my sporting team liverpool won 3-0 today

no idea how this ol thing will last

guess confidence returning slowly but hampered by £160 phone bill i accrued when pished (it was £250)

maybe i will figure summut out tonite

met two people in town recently that i was glad to see (makes a change)

15 days and sober. Just jumped the 2 week bandwagon. Enjoying my sobriety so far. Lots of stress in life, but not creating that usual craving...although I can sure miss the after work beer...

Stress is a big thing to learn to handle sober - but I think every time we get through something it gets a little easier Perpetual
