Hi Dee,

Yes, I had three alcoholic drinks.

Thanks for clearing that up

Yes social occasions were difficult for me too - I took time out from all of that until I felt I was better able to handle anything that would be thrown at me...I still think it was a good investment.

You'll find a variety of views on the counting too.

Personally, I always restarted my count when I drank - no matter how little...I hadn't been honest with myself for a long time...I wanted to change that.

Sobriety was, and is, important to me

Revolution....

I count my sober time from the first day I did not drink
so like Dee...I too would be compelled to get back on track
and start new with Day 1.

It may seem unimportant now...and it's up to you how you count
but being honest is the base of solid sobriety

You did make some good choices ..you limited yourself ..you did not drive
Next step...cut out the alcohol completely...
I too felt strange to not drink when others were .but that passed

Are you useing any local support system to help yoou?
That usually works very well and going it alone is not
necessary....

Hi Everybody... The beginning of day 3 for me here, I figured this would be a good way to spend my time not sleeping.

Hi,

Thanks for the thoughts on the count Carol and Dee. I will heed your advice but do have some thoughts related to it which I will share later in the process.

This is day two, day one was no issue, no cravings, slept well. Tomorrow night and Saturday will be the real tests...

All the best!

Made it through day two with minimal cravings.

Today is day three. Having some cravings tonight since it is Friday but manageable so far. Plan to fill up on dinner which usually blunts the desire to have a drink.

Good job everyone!

One week behind me! I got some yard work done this evening. My goal this weekend is to stay as busy as possible and tire myself out so I start sleeping better.

Congrats Phytoman!

Working on day four here, day three (Friday night) was not so bad on the cravings front once I had dinner. Today (Saturday) will be another challenging day as I would normally consume and as early as lunch time.

Way to go on your progress ...

Have you been walking and eating healthy?
Also water is great for flushing toxins out of your body

Hey everyone. I hope everyone is having a nice saturday. Mine started off great; felt wonderful this morning, then after I did some errands, this tremendous anxiety and anger kicked in and I'm hoping it's not a precursor to a bad day. It's very gloomy today and I live in a bad part of town. I need to move for my sanity. If I could get some good 'moving' mojo headed my way, I'd really appreciate it!

Starting day 10 here. I've got a crazy hectic work week coming up, but I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

I found my work day went smoother with a clear head

I DID ATTEND AN aa MEETING BEFORE i WENT TO WORK
and I also used the Serenity Prayer to keep balanced.

The Serenity Prayer

.God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Way to go on 10 days....
