Welcome bck KC! Congrats on the win :-D Interesting lesson learned on the wine. I used to have way more nasal allergies, but they have lessoned substantially now that I'm not drinking the daily beer. I think that's absolutely related.

Friends - just got back from the KENNY CHESNEY 3-D Movie. Flipping AWESOME. AWESOME. Love it love it love it. Go see it if you are a fan. Just like I was sitting in the front row - I am going to try to go again tomorrow night. WHEEEEE. What a high. And NO HIVES. Tee Hee.....such a groupie.
But.....I "converted" my friend who has never seen Kenny before. She is going to try to go see it again tomorrow, too.

Hey everyone, I have been lurking instead of posting because I relapsed in December. My new sobriety date is 12-11-09. I didn't feel comfortable posting in the August thread. But since you called me out.....
I am doing well and really doing the deal this time. I am on step four, about ready to go over all of my inventory with my sponsor. That is some scary sh*t to see on paper! I have been chairing meetings for the month of April and plan on continuing to do so as part of my service work. I am also finally getting out of my shell and meeting people at my home group.
I recently went on a cruise with my husband and successfully made it through sober. Everyone was drinking including my husband. It it felt good though. I knew I could not just have one. First vacation sober. Ever.
I even found a Friends of Bill meeting and attended even though there was only one other person there. We still had a meeting and it was all good.
I look forward to reading about you guys and I guess I am back if you will have me.

You know..I don't know if any of us August folks has an sobriety date in August!
But that is when we all first came together. I think of it as a beginning for all of us on a journey...the actual date isn't important.
A sober cruise, chairing meetings, and you are on your fourth step, well, all I can say is wow!

BACK !! LOTS of good reading... anew i was laughing at your post about young people at meetings, i think it is fantastic as well, but what made me laugh is one of the guys i think of as a young one, (30yrs) shared tonight about how happy he is to see the 'young ones' (20) in the rooms, we all had a smile, until one ol' timer got up and said... yep sure is good seeing YOU YOUNG ONES IN HERE DAVE!! (THE 30YR OLD )
after typing this i realise it is one of those had to be there moments, but since i typed it i'm posting it anyway!!

Morning everyone else. I just got an e-mail from Breakfree this morning. She is good and training for her first 5K run. She said to tell everyone hi.
Well, this weekend we start the "serious packing" of our house as we move officially next Thursday. Fun times, so get the bus over here and help me out peeps.

Yes..you are a young one., hahaha..
But, this is a progressive disease. It doesn't get better as we age. In fact, the older I became, the harder the alcohol was on my body and mind.
I just didn't process alcohol like I did when I was younger.

Been lurking to keep up, but haven't made a post in awhile. No excuse.
Anew, Just wanted to clarifly that I have been sober since July 29th or 30th.(Can't remember which day.)
