I want to use today for my brother. Not my blood brother. But he might as well be.
He got out of prison yesterday. He talked that prison talk. Like they all do. How they are going to do things differently. But he thinks he can go home and hustle and not get caught up in using. Monkeys cant sell bananas.
He had missed his bus and was trying to sell his ticket to a pastor for a train ticket because the next bus doesnt leave for Greensboro until tomorrow. He had a pastor call me to verify who he was and where he lived and who his uncle was.
He sounded very short and anxious. I know that sound too well.
When we use to hang in the street I could not get high with him. He has done some really awful things to me over drugs. Things even I wouldnt do to someone close to me like me and him are. He really lets that **** take him.

So today I just hope and yes even pray he can at least try to do right. Unfortunately I am pretty sure the next time I hear from him will be whenever he gets locked up again. Which happens every year or 2. He is capable of so much. He lost so much. I just know he can do it. Some are just so lost in that life. They never get out.

I love him. I hope the best. But I have to look out for myself now. I will always be there for him no matter what. But I cant help him destroy himself anymore.
