Chiy's Daily Inspiration Part 2
Not So Alone Again
by Sean Bowers aka Dharma Hooligan
Here again in this begrudged sense of self pity
I want to write your love song
I want to write about all things in the world
about the "system"
about the "man"
about the "peoples struggle"
and how wonderful I am for noticing someone other than myself
I want to write about the beauty of a woman
As seen through the reflection on the T window
and how if everything in my head would just shut up
I could tell you her name
I want to write about a generation of mad men
To feel a sense of kinship
I could tell you about all their idiosyncrasies
and how they define all that I am
I want to write about childhood memories
of fishing the Metoliouis with my father and my fathers father
and the first time I caught a fish with a Snoopy pole
and how spiritual it was
I want to write about how San Fransisco rain
feels on the face of a 15 year old boy
having just discovered crystal meth and punk rock
I want to write about the pride of an intellectual street thug
and how street cred means more
than anything your angry God has to offer
I want to write about the crushing defeat
of divorce
and how heroin, booze, and violence the only medication
I want to write about how the lines wrote in lust
translated as "love"
leaving a whole decade of children empty
I want to write about a community of strangers
I didn't know two days ago
whom I now love
Thank you Dharma Punx
and not so Dharma Punx
Now my family
now my friends
Always my sangha
For you I put my pen down
and sit with you in joy.

George Washington Carver:
How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.

Ann Landers:
Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squarely in the eye and say, "I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.

John Homer Miller:
Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.

That quote is pure inspiration chiy. I read his biography when I was in fourth grade(9 year old). It was my second book and I have never forgotten it.
