Ooooh I hear Star Trek is good!

I'm like Tan and do lots of non-AA stuff with my AA friends. Movies, or lunch, or coffee, or just farting around. Not literally, though. Never mind if Brits are stiff upper lip and all that! Pfft I say! Start a trend, and get those fellow Liverpudians to loosen up! Tell 'em the Yanks and a Newf (and a bonny Irish lass) toldja to!

I will concentrate on meditating at home for now, I will put the class on the back-burner for now, don't wanna overwhelm myself, lol.

Tomorrow's "thing" is a meeting at 1pm. For the rest of today I am cleaning and shopping.

LOL, yep.

And yes, I am monitoring myself and being kind to myself. Things are easing up mentally since the binge now. Thought I was gonna lose it at one point and that is just from 3 days of drinking after nearly 2 months sober...scary. Really scared me.

Hi again Ro and Scaredy.

Not much Nelco today! :

Hi Nands, yes it is a really good book, though difficult to understand in parts cos of the language/culture difference, I think, that and the fact that Zen is about Koans and seeming contradictions...but I understood it enough to know I liked it.
It is like "no-frills" Buddhism, very like Tolle. Tolle seems to have lost the plot in his new book "A new earth", he goes too far in his "know-all-ism".

Hi Stoney. Is it night time there? Have you ever tried melatonin? Its an herb med that makes you sleepy. It was made for travelers to avoid jet lag. It works for me and its NON-addictive, which works for me. I don't even know if its sold over there.

Stoney, you are doing really good, you should be proud of yourself. I also isolate and that's why I find it really helpful to go to f2f meetings. It brings me around people and I do enjoy being with them. I also get together outside of meetings with AA peeps, it was really hard in the beginning but now my life depends on it. The first time I came into AA 20 yrs ago I just went to mtgs, never talked to anyone and then went home. This time around I have made friends, I call people and I am working the steps and I feel a good solid program.
I just want you to know that I am really proud of the steps you are taking right now towards your sobriety. Have a nice night or day, depending when you read this.

Hi Horsey, I don't really need any sleep aids once I have been sober a while, like a month or two.
And yea, it was midnight here when I posted, 1.30am now.

Hi believe, thanks.

I liked your police/priest story, Nands, that was funny.

Go to bed, Paul! And listen to Sarah - melatonin rocks. You say you will be able to sleep in a month or two?

I find that occasionally (a lot!) I stay up too late on my laptop and end up tired for work in the morning. It's so easy to eff around on this thing in bed. BUT I hardly ever read anymore, and I used to love to read a good book in bed - plus it always made me sleepy. I find that when I turn off the laptop, say at 9 pm, then open a book and take my melatonin, I'm usually falling asleep before 10. So - I'm gonna log off soon (thereby setting a good example) and open a book instead. I've been tired and it's because of this.

I love you Paul. You're a good friend. And no I'm not just saying that to make you listen to me.
