Guess who's still at home making tuna casserole while somebody else goes to get the 2 (not 4!!!) new tires!!!

Oh well, at least two of the tires will 'match'...what the heck do they teach you guys in school about this???? Maybe it's genetic????

two tires, tuna casserole, me doing the cooking.....Oy vey.

My whine is people who don't pay attention to instructions!!!!! There is a sign on both sides of my front gate that says PLEASE HOOK THE GATE. Yet young roommate continues to go in and out thru the front gate and leaves it unhooked!!!!! If the dogs got out they could get hit by a car!!!!! Besides the self explanatory sign to HOOK THE GATE, I've asked her specifically to please always HOOK THE GATE. Yet she doesn't do it! I don't get it...

Yes, that has occurred to me a lot lately and is sounding really good. I shall speak with her next time I see her... which might be in court!

My whine................

Cowboy hats and US gallons vs UK gallons

1. Why is a ten gallon (cowboy hat) called a ten gallon hat?
2....and did John Wayne wear one?
3....and would it be called 37.85 litre hat these days?

...if he was a UK cowboy it would be a 45.46 litre hat and a smaller 10 gallon hat so maybe it was better he roamed around Monument Valley than Monmouthshire

The term Ten Gallon may come from the width of the hat band on a mexican sombrero, not the amount of water they hold, though they can hold up to 3 quarts.
The myth I like is where when they raised the USS Maine from the Havanna Harbor in 1912 (sank in 1898) they found a Stetson among the muck and after restoration it was good as new. Had to be more than a gallon there LOL.

It's another beeeoootiul day in the neighborhood! Have the window open, and there's a delightful breeze blowing through.

Least...maybe if you put a hook on her door (complete with padlock), she would get the idea.

There are times I actually hate the 12 Steps...they force me to do things I don't want to. Like having to write a letter of apology to my daughter. Not that I feel I did anything wrong...but sorry that we had words again over something that should have been resolved long ago. And, I know if something isn't done about this sore point between the two siblings, this won't be the last time we come to verbal blows! Oh, well...gotta suck it up, and make amends.

I had alot of yardwork to do yesterday morning; pulling out all the stuff that keeps popping up overnite (not kidding here...it's subtropical) gets out of hand fast.
I usually get some scratches on my hands and arms from yanking out all the different kinds of ferns that spread _all over_ the place, but last night I noticed a welt on my arm.

I had removed a splinter from my finger earlier and assumed I found another one...Nope.

It appears I have been bitten by somethin' ....and I'm thinking it was one of those spiders I posted about awhile ago. Ughhhh, I have a lump under the spot and it hurts. Owchie-wow-wow.

OT
btw...My dear mr cmc bought me two very nice, top notch front end tires last night, and they _do_ look spiffy. He spent some big bucks too....to make me happy and keep me safe. Darn it...now I can't use any of my hubby related topics to whine about. Sheesh.

Jerz,
Hey little lady....your're really 'burning daylight' making all those amends and doing all that stepwork!
Sincerely yours,
The Duke
