Serious part 2
Yes you definitely seem to be more upbeat today... but I think you will be up and down for a while. Its still early days. So don't get too disillusioned if you get a bad day. We all get them, its how you deal with them now. You know something....24 days is a long time and its nice to hear you treating you nice. It reminds me of that poem you posted....about the mirror and breaking bread with self etc. I hope you sleep well tonight stone
THE TIME WILL COME
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine.Give bread.Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

Well I thought what you've said was OK...about "the tone" and after all it was me who posted the cow udder cornflakes....maybe others didn't
Anyhow, we're not a glum lot and I respect you for taking your recovery seriously - hence title of this thread!
Have a great day Stone

Liked that poem Stone! Just gone online to put on the families bets for the National today - all picked using nice names and favourite colours
Wish I had the time to join you at that zen class - I'd like to explore that. You know anther thing they have in Liverpool that's brilliant for meeting other people and doing something different? Liverpool Samba school - anyone can come along to the classes, they're dead welcoming (I know because they played at our wedding..) and pretty quickly you end up playing gigs - which is a rush!
But whatever - it's good that you're going to be mixing with others at the meditation. I'm going to try and get up a bit earlierand do my qi gong again. I miss it
Have a good day bud.

hey Stone,
I'm glad you're going to the meditation class as well. I haven't been attending ZaZen for a while now, and need to get back to it. Sitting in a formal group setting is very very helpful to my sobriety.
I started attending after i had had a period of sobriety and then began to slip slide away on a regular basis...went on to 7 years sober, and had stopped zazen when i picked up the bottle again...
wow...i really do need to get back
Hang in there stoney...there can be long periods of uncomfortableness in sobriety (scratch that..life), but they do pass (and of course drinking doesn't make them pass any faster)

Hi Nands, yea the class should be good! I have never been to one before, I am looking forward to it.
Hi Bugs, not seen you around for a while. The depression continues to lift, I am just tired all the time. I suppose I am blazing my own trail.
