Just watched The Dark Knight - again - and must say I hope Heath Ledger get the posthumous award for best supporting actor. His Joker was too good, best bad guy I've ever seen. My humble opinion, of course...

Am so furious I could spit... Just spanked my beagirl, which I never do, for not only eating poop, but bringing it in the house!!!!! A midnight snack, or what??? I lost my temper and yelled at her and gave her a spank on the butt... and she knew what it was for, and was embarassed, and ran upstairs and hid under the bed!! I know my dog and I know she KNEW what she'd done wrong. The minute I caught her she looked ashamed. I know her expressions. I am so mad I can't stand it.
She gets good food twice a day, with supplements, and vitamins, and all manner of good things for her health and nutrition... and I cannot get rid of this disgusting habit!!! I am at a loss, have researched this nasty habit of coprophagy (sp?) and have tried every trick in the book, and then some. Anyone have any useful tricks to stop this habit? I go out with them as much as possible to clean up right away, but sometimes can't do that. This is the only bad habit she's ever had and I'm at a loss.:wtf2
In case anyone finds this funny... well, I guess it is, if it's not happening in your home with your dogs. I don't want her on my bed tonight, and that exclusion will hurt her feelings - I can read her mind on a lot of things. I am desperate for a solution, anyone have one??

Someone I know asked the vet for a solution to the "nasty snacking" and the vet told him to put something on the poop to "make it taste bad." WTH? What could taste worse? LOL Hope this makes you laugh. I have no idea what the vet was thinking...

Any number of good reasons why she might be doing that, actually S (good canine reasons).
Smacking her could actually drive her to be more secretive about it.

Thank goodness my kitten grew out of brining me her poop from the litter tray in her mouth, obviously! I would shout a firm no and pick it up with toilet paper, she would do the same run off...and then come back with another. What can you say to that apart from 'FFs Trixie' lol

I spanked her butt once to make her drop it - ugh - but I won't do it again. Am just desperate to get her to quit doing it. Besides being disgusting, it can't be good for her. I've seen that list before but it answered none of my questions and I've tried everything to get her to stop already. I'm at a loss.:wtf2

I have another dog, a male (neutered), but she still has this bad habit. I will not spank her again, I feel too guilty about the one spank I gave her, but am trying ANYTHING to get her to stop this habit. I love her more than life itself, but cannot stand for this to continue.
