Anyone know if it would be illegal for an entertainer to bill himself as The Big Bopper?
I guess JP Richardsons kids could sue, as it is a legal trademark apparently (Official Big Bopper Website)

but he's been dead 50 years this year (gulp) and I've known many a Big Bopper impersonator in my time (well, ok...two )...

Thanks, Dee. I think "impersonator" would be one thing...but, capitalizing on the name by billing oneself as The Big Bopper, even though dead 50 years, I just don't think is Kosher. The reason I ask is because one of the so-called entertainers who comes to the nursing home calls himself The Big Bopper...and, believe me, he sounds nothing like TBB!

I looked up copyright laws, and a name can't be copyrighted; but, it can be trademarked, which TBB's seems to be. Maybe I'll write to Jr's email. I'll let you know if I get a response.

thanks Jerz...I quite like the Big Bopper, as far as my interest in rock and roll goes...and yeah the impersonators I knew never tried to pretend they were genuine.

I don't know how you do it Pix. I assume your daughter is old enough to help a lot? That is my biggest worry about a pony - I won't be able to find the time to look after it properly.

Like I said, I don't know how you squeeze it all in. How did you ever find time to drink? Mind you, if you were anything like me, I didn't even do housework without a bottle of wine to hand - multi-tasking

LB I only managed to get to the stables in the evening because my partner took me. As I opend a bottle of wine as soon as I got in from work and would have at least two glasses within 20min before going to the stables (Tut Tut)

But because of the type of pony I really only need to go once a day during the week. She doesent need stabled but I do when it is really cold or wet. At weekends I go twice bacause I have the time. But having said that I haven't been yet today.

It only takes 45min tops weekdays to feed and do the feild. As she is not being excersised much she can go the odd day without a feed and just have hay.

It hasn't caost me half as much as I thought it would to keep her. I love just escaping up to the feild. Time just flies by. My daughter is a fantastic help. She has the other pony Missy on loan and does everything for her.

So sorry if I have bored you all lol

awwww, that's lovely, nands!

Wibble, horses only associate with posh people and would never use language like that!!

Now the guinea pigs, I think that is what they are thinking as they look at the llamas! "Time to stop this silly vegetarianism, kids!"
