Hello Everyone....
It's always best to see your doctor about quitting drinking.
Why? please click on the below link

When you read our experiences...please note that few
had the exact same symptoms. There are too many
variables to be certain of how you will react.
Yes...you can be both safe and sober!

Dbauer - congratulations on Day 11. Glad to see your attending meetings.
I went to a meeting last night, I hadn't planned on going, as we had another Christmas party to go to; but a friend of mine called yesterday and said he couldn't make it and asked if I would handle the chips.
So I dragged myself to the meeting after our party and handled the chips. 20 people instead of the usually 40-50 but it was great to see the people there. I like smaller more intimate meetings anyways and everyone there wanted to be there - no court ordered.
I mucked my way through handling the chips; but no one minded and I got to hand out two 1 yr birthdays and a 4 yr to a young lady with an amazing story. It was all pretty cool.
Merry Christmas everyone.
ExNavy - congrats to you on making Day 6. Keeping moving forward my friend.

We celebrate our birthdays the last Friday of each month.
Last week, I hit one year.
You would like my home group. 15-20 people, really laid back.
You know, we do make progress each day even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it. I remember hitting a day when I had the most amazing feeling. The obsession to drink was gone, I had absolutely no fear that I would start drinking again. The peace was incredible! I didn't see it coming, it just gradually happened!
Keep at it everyone...that peace is there for all of us!

Day 4,
3 was rough, wine at the family dinner, but hey, i did pretty good and didnt drink.
Today- Day 4 has been pretty easy, Im tired from visiting family and driving home.
Tomorrow will be even better. Im ready to get past the holidays.
Thanks everybody.
I also picked up under the influence at Barnes and Nobles, its quite a good read, very interesting and helpful to understanding the physical part of addiction. It actually helps me cope with my disease by helping me understand how its a disease and how it progresses.

Good for you!
Please look at the eating plan and supplements recommended
in "Under The Influence"
I did follow those for about 6 months and
I think that is why my cravings were manageable.
