Bottoms Part 104
I was sitting in my meeting and the thought of drinking came into my head, I wondered if the shops would still be open when the meeting finished...
I immediately jumped on the thought of course, but jeez. :crazy

That happens to me sometimes too Stoney. It comes "out of the blue". My experience is that I talk about it. It usually helps take the power away from it. And now I know that just because I think about it does NOT mean I have to act on it. Keep talking about it Stoneyman.

Stoney...the truth is Ive had too many of those fleeting thoughts lately...not strong enough or long enough to translate to action, but sure am not happy about it...but i just started admitting it is happening the past few days...so I think sometimes it helps to get it out there instead of just in my head.
I know Dee and Tano have said it happens to them...so I guess we are in good company
thank god i got my tounge back.....now if i could just pay those bills.....

Thanks guys, I find if I kill the thought off immediately then the obsession will not come...if I give the thought any head-space at all then the obsession snowballs into a craving....then I am in trouble.
I put this into action tonight and killed the thought straight away...30 seconds later I was fine....but if I had dallied about with the thought, debated with it.....eek!

Thoughts are ok Stoney, and I'm glad you quashed them.
Probably does no harm to take this as a warning tho - look at what you're doing - make sure you're doing everything you can to stay committed
Go annoy some newbies, mebbe?

Well I've been MIA for most of the day but supper is in the slow-cooker and I've got a bit of time between loads of laundry to catch up.
Daughter and I saw Twilight today at theatre we have both read the books and the movie was surprisingly very good. I look forward to the next installment.
Snowing hard here, and freezing rain. I think we are getting the same storm you are, Scott.
I'm glad you're talking about the thoughts of drinking, Paul. Those are bound to happen for quite some time. So if the thoughts snowball, as you said, and turn into a craving, it still doesn't mean that it's an inevitability that you drink. Remember that. My first year I nearly went mad with cravings and fighting them off. I relapsed a couple of times, as you know, but I learned to rat myself out down the road and did whatever I needed to keep from picking up. If it meant having a friend stay with me, or go out to the late show, or out with friends for coffee and laughs, whatever. This is a critical time for you and you can make different choices this time. I have 100% faith in you.
Hi Gyps, Tan, Nands, Dee, Euro folk ...

*Lol*
Had to review the last page to see what that was about Row!
You know something Stoney? I prayed one night...you would have flat tires if you
flung a craving. Really! Didn't know you didn't drive..
It shows we care.
