Online sponsor?
 

I am currently working overseas in China and the local NA here has no women! I am 6 days off of opiates and really want to work the steps and do things right this time! Any ideas of an online sponsor or if they exist? Thanks!

yes they exist, and yes, it is worth it! My first sponsor started online, graduated to phone contact too. Not sure if it's ideal, but it's a heck of a lot better than going without.

I now live in an area with no meetings, so my sponsor is mostly phone contact from 2000 miles away. We've met F2F three times.

The main thing is to remain honest and willing. It's easier to hide from an online or long distance sponsor, to lie about what's going on. But like I said, it's much better than going without.

my only exp is w/ a former f2f sponsee who now lives overseas ... we were on step 11 when he moved so its a bit more about maintenance as he settles in.

you might PM threshold ? i do not do meetings here on SR- feel like i have enough f2f meetings in my life, but they might also be a place to start. And definitely run that query towards a moderator .
