Hello, my name is Billy and I am an addict. I have been to some NA meetings before and even had a sponsor. However, it didn't work out and now I am detoxing off methadone at a clinic. I know it will take several months, however I need to start doing something because if I leave it until the last couple days I will relapse. Basically, I do NOT want to go back to that NA group, and I don't live near another one. So, I am going to start working the steps with the help of forums like these and what other information I can find online. Also, I will finish reading the Basic Text and put my best effort into getting clean and into recovery. I know that it is not ideal and that many might say it's a bad idea. However, given the circumstances that I had a bad experience with the group closest to me as well as the fact that I need spiritual help badly, this is my best option. Thanks for the time.
