I am so depressed and feel hopeless
And adding to the pain of the compression fractures, is the pain and bloating and nausea I feel from the - ahem - side effect of being on norcos for a month. If I don't eat, my stomach hurts. But when I do eat, my abdomen hurts. One more week to endure this pain. I don't know when the constipation will end tho. I've been off the norcos for about 3 weeks now and it's just as bad as it was when I was taking the opioids. I've tried pepto bismol to settle my stomach but it does no good.

Least, I'm praying and just confident that there'll be an end to this pain soon, you're a trooper for hanging in there and enduring as best as you can.

The doctor told me that it will take a couple days for the steroids to take effect. I'm waiting til Saturday to see if the pain is less by then. My feet are still numb and my lower back still hurts but he said that's normal and to put ice on my lower back several times a day. He said no heat, just ice and Tylenol. For whatever reason, I can't use ibuprofen for a few days. Dno't know why.
I'm hoping it was successful. I want to be done with this pain.

That makes sense. I only take ibuprofen a couple times a week at most. The rare headache will warrant it. I have both Tylenol and ibuprofen so can choose the Tylenol for the next week or so.
The pain in my lower back isn't as intense as it was, but any time I walk or stand on my feet, it gets worse. If I'm just sitting quietly it's not too bad.
My feet and legs are still numb and painful. I have an appt with my GP tomorrow and I am going to ask him if he could start treating me for peripheral neuropathy. According to the Mayo Clinic article, I have most of the symptoms they list as being from neuropathy. I hope he can put me on gabapentin and that it will take away the pain in my feet.

Least I feel for you. I had pain in my feet for such along time made even worse when I gave up alcohol - it was in the end peripheral neuropathy which I always suspected, treated with gabapentin - it did take about 3 weeks for the gabapentin to work, but it did work. I do hope you are given something for the pain... thinking of you....
Saw my doctor today and he put me on gabapentin, 300 mg three times a day for a month. I'm hoping that will get rid of the pain and numbness in my feet and legs.
Thank you for all your support and prayers.
