Anyone on Ambilify?

My doc has me switching from Seroquel to Ambilify and I really don't know much about either or why I'm on them.

I've been on 100 mg of Seroguel and I'm moving over to Ambilify on 25 mg ( I think).

Any personal experiences with Ambilify would be very helpful. It's a fairly new drug from what I understand and the main reason my doc switched me is because on the Seroquel I've been craving sugars like you wouldn't believe!

shutterbug,
Abilify rocks! I've been on it for almost a year and a half, albeit a small dose. I had no problems with side effects and I have taken meds that made me crave sugar like you're talking about. I put some info about Seroquel on Wolfstarr's thread, too. Check it out.

Abilify is the first of a new type of antipsychotic, but it is used in mood disorders too, as are many antipsychotics including Seroquel. HOpe this helps!
Love and hugs,
Eddie

moving this up b/c i'd forgotten i ever even had been on Ambilify (and may have gotten switched before ever taking it back then).

New pdoc prescribed it to me as a mood stabalizer this week. i'm on day 2. i was surprized when i learned yesterday it is an anti-psychotic.

anyway...i know nothing about it and can't find any info on the link HistoryTeach posted for meds or any other threads started about it.

So any input anyone may have is very welcome and appreciated!!

hugs,
jenna

Jenna,
Do you mean Abilify?
I couldn't find anything on ambilify either, but, the prompt came up for ABILIFY, without the "m", so, I'm thinking it's a typo?

Anyway, Abilify is used for many conditions. What else is new... LOL! Here's a list:
Agitated State, Agitation, Anorexia Asperger's Syndrome, ADD, ADHD-Impulsive,
Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Bipolar Disorder NOS, Bipolar I disorder, Bipolar II disorder
Borderline Personalitynality Disorder, Cyclothymic disorder, Depression,
Generalized Anxiety disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic disorder / agoraphobia, PDD - NOS, Post-Traumat...disorder (PTSD),Schizoaffective disorder,
Schizophrenia, Social phobia (Anxiety disorder)

It would be used for Bipolar I and II, so, it's likely the med you're using. Check the spelling, ok?

Hope it helps...

Shalom!

I'm on Abilify among other meds. It's been a very helpful med for me. Glad I'm on it and had the dose increased.
