Escitalopram/Lexapro and Restless leg syndrome

I've been diagnosed with depression recently and was put on escitalopram 10 mg. I've been taking it for the past two weeks and my restless leg syndrome seems be getting worse. Before the meds, I used to get it once every couple of months but now it seems to be an everyday occurrence. Any idea if these two are connected? And what can I do to ease the symptoms? It's becoming a nightmare and I have such trouble falling asleep.

Have you tried indian tonic water for the RLS it has Quinne in it an active ingredient that helps RLS by reducing cramps

No, I haven't tried Tonic water. But isn't it old wive's tale about quinine and RLS?

I would give your docs office a call and let them know about it, they should have no problem switching you over to something else.

Yep, best to speak with your Doctor. He/She can advise you best.

Hope you feel better.

I spoke to my therapist and he said it's unlikely that it's a side effect of the anti d but google says lot of people faced similar problems. My T has asked me to talk to my regular doc to see if I have some other issue.
