Golf;
I'm sorry you have no sense of humor. :(
I was JOKING!
As the smilie should have made clear to you. :no:
Perhaps you may not want to jump on people quite so quickly. Especially since I directed nothing to you? :dunno

WII;
I'm sorry if I offended you. I was truely joking.
That's all I'll say on this thread.

Shalom!

Well, what can I say. I certainly don't want us fighting in this thread. I know iguanas are unusual. I mean they are a different lifeform that were designed NOT to be cuddly and cute. I just marvel at the engineering. All the complexities of their bodies. Their intriquite patterns that all mesh together to make this walking sack of poop.

Wii;
I had two English Bulldogs.
If I knew how to post pics, I'd do so to show you.
And yes, I think they are the most beautiful creatures on earth too!
Objectively beautiful? No, of course not.
But, beauty in their soul They are the most loving animals I"ve ever known. :e058:
I do understand your love for your animals too. :)

Shalom!

*SIGHS*

I really miss having a kitten. I had Siamese when I was growing up and Oh how I loved all of them. But as I got older I became allegic to ALL cats and most dogs so I decided I NEEDED pets in my life. Fish weren't really cuddly but iguanas are if you first wrap them in a flannel baby blanket. They LOVE to snuggle. And once you put them down to sleep, if it's in your bed, they don't move a muscle for 12 hours. They'd sleep 20 hours a day if you let them. But mine are very attuned to my schedule now. If I over sleep at all my female climbs up on me and does push ups and sneezes right in my face to wake me up. I kid you not. I just give her a kiss on the nose and get up.

Great thread, Wii. I couldn't agree more. My oldest (shih-tsu) has saved my life - literally, at least 3 times. Animals ask for so little, but they return love and loyalty and affection a thousand fold. I can honestly say I wouldn't be here but for the love of my animals.

I also have been adopted by a female tabby and we have a foster cat with us now, too.

I've done volunteer work with and for animals for years. Right now I volunteer for a no-kill animal shelter. And you know what? As much love as I give them, they give me back more. It makes my heart happy to go there and clean cages and take the dogs for a walk. I recommend it for anyone who is in recovery or who just needs a boost. It makes me feel better than any drunk or drug ever did.

You know something P? That's the best suggestion I've got lately. I would like to volunteer at the Animal shelter. I will look into that soon, thanks for that.

I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home

I read in the paper there are robbers (roof! roof!)
With flashlights that shine in the dark

My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark

I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk

These cats are so cute! I have two, but I donīt know how to post a picture of them. The iguanas are absolutely fabulous! I love them. Each summer I go to a small island where a friend has a summer house, and I feed them and let them nibble at me whe Iīm sunbathing. These are beauties. Thatīs why Galapagos Islands where called "Enchanted islands"... I think. If not it should!

I am seriously thinking of getting one... hope the cats wonīt be crazy.

And I think pets are life savers. They tought me responsibility and getting in touch with my emotions soon after I stopped using. Íīm a catwoman, but I saw also lovely dogs posted on this thread too.

Love and light,

Wii 05-20-2007 09:35 PM

I seriously don't think it'd be a good idea to mix cats and iguanas. Someone is going to get hurt. They are mortal enemies. If the baby iguana doesn't get chewed up by the cat and grows to adulthood it will whip the living CRAP out of the cat. Sorry. An adult iguana's tail can Kill an infant or small child. BUT if you ever don't have a cat, THEN get an iguana.

Lilya 05-23-2007 11:08 AM

Thanks, Wii.

I guess I have to admire them when I see them, because I canīt get rid of my cats. I was so taken by these iguanas, I went to an animalerie (animal store?) and the salesperson told me I could have one... on a smaller scale. I donīt think Iīll be taking the chance to believe her, but Iīll enjoy them later on this summer.

I keep looking at the photos, what amazing, gorgeous animals.

Love and light,

Love and light,

Well, it's good you saw through the sales pitch. As long as they make the sale they don't care what kind of suffering ensues.

Hey, why can't I post pictures?!

cinderellawkids 05-29-2007 11:24 AM

Ive had iguanas and cats together. Once most cats get a good whip from the tail they leave them alone. In South Florida theres released iguanas all over the place and the cats just ignore them.

Course Im not a good one to talk I have 2 cats and a pet rat, among others
