Smoking again

Well I relapsed. Started on Christmas day and it has increased daily since.

Hey someday, it has nothing to do with you but this doesn’t surprise me. Once you have crossed the line it is so much easier to do it again. I know that firsthand unfortunately.

How are you feeling about it? Do you have a plan? Is there anything we can do for you?

I do understand, so well. But there is still you with your choices in there....you have to go and get the stuff, you have to organise it in the first place....and that right there is where you can stop yourself. Talk to us....all the way....do a meeting. Just do not call your person and get more.....

In my experience it takes just a day or two for the cravings to dissipate....I am not sure if it is that way for you.
But I know you can do it.

❤️

You had some pretty good cogent reasons not to smoke Someday - revisit that thread again, or this one

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...hout-weed.html (Reasons Life is Better Without Weed)

You obviously are not at peace with smoking again or you wouldn't be here posting.

In the internal battle of two wolves, its the one you feed that wins....

Thanks for posting, I really appreciate it. However I won’t accept any compliments until I get a lot of sober time under my belt

Saying I quit is the easy part, doing it is another thing. Especially long term. That’s where my challenges are.

Day 1 seems incredibly daunting when you’re on a smoking streak, but you have nothing to lose by not smoking. You might feel out of place, you might feel awkward and you might not think about anything else but it is do-able. And you were on a roll, with your six months and a topic to list the benefits of not smoking.

I hope you can make a wise decision in the very near future. Let us know if we can help with that. I agree with Dee that it’s beneficial to regularly visit this place, so I hope to see you around.

Have a good day!

Personally, I needed help. I talked to an addiction counsellor every day for 2 weeks I think.
I really recommend utilising free phone lines....

I found one that you probably already know of, don't want to link it in case it is commercial, but it is called Addiction NI/Northern Ireland Drug & Alcohol Services.

It’s a good thing you’re paying this place a visit. Sorry to hear you are still smoking. You sound as if you want to stop but can’t. Why not visit this place regularly, even when you’re smoking? It has kept me in check in the past, but I know it’s not easy to do.

I am doing ok, but I’m having a couple of rougher days where I seem to doubt my own decisions non stop.

Make the best out of this weekend and stay in touch if you can.
