Day 11 no weed
Day 11 no weed
Hey guys
Okay so I'm on holiday which has forced me into no weed. I usually smoke everyday back home but have used it as a way of coping with giving up booze, not healthy I know. Its surprised me how much of my life is wrapped around smoking it as when I first got here I even downloaded an app to find it and emailed a place to try and buy it. As the days have went on iv calmed down slightly and I feel like I want to continue my this quit but I'm worried about when I get back home. Any advice on staying away for it, I'm scared incase quitting makes me relapse on booze, sounds stupid I know as I'm just replacing one thing for another I just want to be done with all substances controlling my life.
Thanks lpg

hi lpg
when I quit I really had to stop hanging around smokers - now I can go anywhere and do anything (not that I'm around smokers that much anymore but you get the point) but at the beginning, no way.
Be cautious of the invites you accept and the company you keep.
Get rid of all your gear and paraphernalia. Check in here regularly.
You can absolutely do this

Thanks dee praying I can keep this up when I get back home. I feel like I'm 100% all me right now and I love this I just don't want to fail.

Hi Lpg, welcome to the forum.
It's crazy how we continue to do something that makes us miserable.
One tool I used to stay sober was playing the tape. Think ahead to where smoking will take you again. The panic when your stash gets low. Altering your life around weed. Procrastinating or forgetting. Paranoia during social interactions. Self loathing. The list goes on and on.
And keep reminding yourself how good you feel clean. Being 100% there.
Another tool I used and still use is SR, this forum, daily. I couldn't have kicked pot without it. I found it so helpful to read all the posts and do a lot of posting myself.
It's so easy to slip back, but if you hang onto that commitment and get through the first month or so, I promise it will get easier and easier.

Feeling better today which means I'm craving a smoke but not giving in. Doing some reading and learning on here. I do feel I'm getting angry really easy at stupid things, especially with my partner, is that normal?
Feeling rather positive today considering my lack of sleep.
Hoping to get all my life back for the first time since being a child really! And find out who I really am without anything in my system... Exciting!

End of Day 6, still struggling to sleep properly.
Had cravings quite intense this weekend. Positive of that is its made me try new AA meeting rather than sitting about craving all evening.
Been more enthusiastic for work the last few days too.

The sleep thing is irritating me I have to say but I guess having more energy makes up for it.
Lucky if I made it up past 10pm when smoking so days feel extra long.
Sticking with it I want to be 100% sober and I'm not giving up!
