Hi..hope it is ok to ask for help. My husband has smoked probably almost everyday for over twenty years...pot and cigarettes. He also drank everyday and I seriously suspect for the past nine months was doing something else as all money was disappearing and he lost almost thirty pounds. My questions are...can smoking pot make you violent, paranoid, and an insomniac? After 10 years together it got so bad I got a Protective Order and the he decided to go to rehab for the first time ever. I really think there was something else in the mix but have no proof? Can you weigh in?

Welcome Palehorse. I am sorry for what brings you here.
I can only speak from personal experience.
Marijuana's effect on me was quite the opposite from your husband's.
I gained weight from the munchies and slept a lot. I never got violent. Mellow is a word often used when describing the effects that pot has.
I suspect that your husband has graduated to something else.
