This works for me
What I do that works for me when I am about to try and go to sleep is to listen to something and I dont mean music.
For example, I go to some website like topdocumentaryfilms..or just Youtube and type in Documentary + subject that I find interesting to know about.
For me, my brain seems too relax and not rush when I listen to something while I try to go asleep and also while I sleep.
Sometimes when the Documentary ends I do actually wake up and I have to start another one.
I can recommend Carl Sagan, 16 hours of talk about space and time, or why not Through the Wormhole, also about the Universe with narrator Morgan Freeman.
Give it a try, if it dont work for sleep, atleast one gets educated.
