60 days in, constant nightmares
Today is day 100 for me. I have had a few nightmares. But I had them really bad before getting sober. They are starting to go away now. Hang in there and see what happens. Things will get better, I'm sure.

fears that were used to being diluted are raising their ugly heads? your inner alcoholic trying to convince you you need a drink?? force yourself to saturate your mind with positive thoughts, affirmations, prayers and gratitude lists as soon as you hit the pillow and shut your eyes...your mind marinates all night in the last thoughts/feelings you choose as you go to sleep...why not choose good ones? please never self-loathe before sleeping. give yourself permission to love yourself, knowing your HP has got your back for the entire night, knowing self love is the way to healing. self loathing will only prolong it. The point of power is always in the present moment. well these were just the first things that came to mind, hoping maybe it might help at least a little. sweet dreams!
When you use a drug for many years, that drug becomes part of your chemical makeup. When you remove that drug from your chemical makeup you are going to suffer a lot of changes. My group leader (who is a Ph.D in this area) says that it could take up to a year for the "new Normal" to surface. You drank / abused for years. It will take a while for your body and your mind to adjust. Hang in there.
no offense but I had nightmares each and every night. Until I had to go get help from a therapist so your not the only one. Go talk to one and get them to help. But I cant give medical advice here but thats all I'm saying lol
