Still can't sleep well, since quit drinking

I'm still on 50mg Seroquel XR, prescribed by my doctor.

Maybe that's my problem, it's XR (slow release).

I take it at 10 pm, and go to bed at 11, and I guess not enough of it has "hit my system" to help me sleep.

I wonder if I should ask my doctor for the "regular" Seroquel, which "hits you all at once".

Any suggestions anyone might have for me, would be greatly appreciated.

Sleepless in Seattle, er, Sleepless in Toronto

hmmmm, you know...i would think of that as energy foods of sorts. what puts me to sleep is pizza, or ice cream, or pasta,

why am i hungry all of a sudden? ar ar ar

actually i am now off to bed however, how ironic is that. hope you get some rest also Kelly~~~

Hi.

I use the xr version too, I tried the normal version, and it does work faster, but imo the xr is the best for me.

Here's how much I take to sleep, note that I take mine 2-3 hours before I go to bed:

Good day: 50mg.

Hard day: 100mg.

Very hard day: 150mg

But we are all different, so talk to your doctor before experimenting on your own!

Hey sweetie Have you tried some meditation? Like Scrambled, the only thing that cured my insomnia was rising early. Super early. You quit almost a year ago didn't you? Maybe your brain's trying to tell you this isn't the sleeping pattern for you...

Feels WEIRD talking to you on a thread!

i'll wait for Kelly to tell it.

and while we are waiting, i had a broken sleep last night...3AM was a big trigger time for me, but i did something different, it was too late to take my allergy meds, so i kicked the headache with 2 tylenol and did fall back to sleep.

Hi, I cannot reply to your PM until I have 5 posts, so I will reply here...

In the beginning I needed about 12-14 hours of sleep on any amount of seroquel, or else I would be very dizzy and feel sick.

Now that my sleep has returned to normal for some time, I only need about 7-9 hours, no mather if I take 50, 100 or 150.

The only thing I notice in the mornings now, is that I don't think as much as I usually do, but if I want, I can still think without any problems.
