Cough Sirup and sleep disorders?

Hi friends!
Last week i had bad cough and i was taking cough sirup for that. And i noticed i could not sleep for almost two complete nights.
Is this something to do with cough sirups?

It's always good to ask your pharmacist or your doctor about things like this - different brands or types of cough syrups contain different things, and one person may react differently than another person would to the same medication.

My experiences with Nyquil was similar. It would knock me out, but when I quit taking it, I couldnt sleep a wink.

I started abusing it in the form of taking it so I COULD sleep. Coming off of it was horrendous. It took nearly a week to recover.

So yeah, cough syrup, Nyquil, and similar OTC meds that contain alcohol and other ingredients are likely to blame for your insomnia...

Just my two cents....

I am a DXM (active ingredient in cough syrup) addict, and I know that DXM in larger doses will make me stay up for days on end, so I can imagine a little bit could cause trouble sleeping.
