Unhappy Rest in peace, Jack. I'll always love you and hold you in my heart.

The day I've been dreading was today. I had Jack put to sleep as he was bad off and not getting better. I miss my sweet old man terribly and feel like I've been punched in the stomach. This doesn't seem real. I expect to see him waiting for me in the den.

I got so used to helping him down the stairs. I hope heaven doesn't have stairs. I had him 8 and a half years, so long, I thought he'd always be there. But now I've lost him, and a huge part of my life went with him.

I miss you Jack, more than I can express. I will hold you in my heart until we meet again.

You're a good boy Jack.

I've heard of a stairway TO Heaven. I believe we are all healed from the pain and suffering in our physical bodies once we get there.

I recently lost a pet I had for many years too. You'll feel better than this. Honest.

I ate a lot of junk food for a couple days. I was in no mood to cook. I think it helped.

Did you ever see the thread that was going in Spirituality when honeypig lost her beloved Ned? A lot of great posts...you can start at post #8 if you want. Bring tissues.

I'll always remember Jack too, Least. He was a special boy who overcame difficulties with grace. I think he's watching you & hoping you will feel better soon. He knows you two will meet up again one day.

I'm so sorry least I remember when my cats died, it's been years and years but I still miss them terribly.

And I don't think you'll have to be able to walk stairs in heaven. Think of all the old people who can't walk their stairs down anymore. I'm sure he'll be alright up there and patiently waiting for you

I feel empty and anxious. Wanting to see him but knowing I won't because he's gone. This day has gone on forever. I'm afraid to go to sleep tonight for fear I'll dream of him and be sad.

I just came upstairs and realized I'd never again see his little face waiting for me at the top of the stairs like he always did. God, I miss him. Feel like I'm missing a limb. Part of me is missing.

There may be stairs in heaven but I believe that our bodies are restored and there is no more pain, so Jack may be bounding up and down those stairs. I know that all of us would love to take away your pain, least, we're here for you

I just took Billie for a walk and when I came home, I was overwhelmed with grief and burst out crying for Jack. Billie got very upset and reached up to lick my face and comfort me. I told her I love her and was so glad I adopted her. She knows I'm sad and was trying to comfort me.

She is a great comfort to me. Thank you Billie, for loving me.

Billie is doing her best to comfort me. She licks my face and sits in my lap. I keep telling her how much I love her and how glad I am that I adopted her.

Henry Van Dyke Quotes

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.
