My list
My list
Throughout all my attempts to quit alcohol, I have been constantly reminded by family/friends, and sometimes, shockingly, myself of all the things I should be gratelful for in my life ..
* Being able to live in London and travel Europe for the past 8 years.
* Having supportive and loving family and friends.
* Having a dog to call my own (at last!)
* Living in a lovely cottage in a quaint Rocky Mountain villiage.
* Earning a colege diploma for a rewarding career of now 15 years.
* Personally meeting my movie star/teen idol 3 times (before he died of cancer from years of alcoholism and chain smoking this year. Although sober since 1989.)
* Hiking 5 14,000 ft mountains in the past 3 years.
* Surviving through several hospitalizations for anorexia/depression/suicide attmepts/panic attacks.
* Hopefully having my health remain intact after sobriety.
* Having had the serenity to not touch a drop of alcohol until I was 32 years old. (And the right to choose not to drink now!)
* ......And for all the other small moments of happiness and joy I have had in my life!
