grateful for your help
i just wanted to say that i am so grateful to have found this board!!
it's really helping me everyday to come in and check the messages. sometimes it helps me with concrete ideas to use in my search for sober life, and other time it helps to get me out of myself for a moment. i've been having difficulty getting out of my shell and starting to live again. these boards are helping me to feel emotions that i have not felt in a long time. feelings that i had numbed down to nothing with alcohol. feelings like compassion and empathy. i certainly am not all there yet with the emotion stuff, but i'm learning.
i had a really tough time yesterday and reading the supportive posts really helped me in my choice to not pick up.
i'm grateful to all the people that come here to give and receive help, and grateful to the people that make this site possible.
