Alpine - What beautiful pictures of your baby Riley!
Palmer - Wonderful news that a place has opened up. Hoping Dad will be happy & relieved.

Grateful for bright sun & coolish temps.
Grateful I'm really sticking to my healthy eating. It has to happen this time.

I visited my brother in Alaska for two glorious weeks about 20 some years ago, it's a beautiful state.

Love the pictures of Riley, what a cutie pie.

Morning all

Coffee and post reading - it's good.

Alpine - I STILL haven't figured out how to post photos! So you're doing well
CBS - good work on the cucumbers and tomatoes. I only have a patio but I'm gonna get some tomato plants I think
Free - You're going to Alaska! I'm very jealous. It's been my dream ever since watching Northern Exposure in my teens. Don't know if anyone remembers that show. I loved it - still do.
Fearless - glad to hear you managed to not get too triggered by the email

Today I'm grateful for the talk I went to last night. The people I went with (who are lovely people) moaned quite a lot about how boring it was, but I found it really interesting. I realise it's because they'd all had a couple of drinks beforehand and were most likely just waiting for it to finish so they could get to the pub. Not judging - that was me for most of my life. But it was kinda nice to notice (in a slightly selfish way!)
Grateful for all of my friends
Grateful to be sober
Grateful to be doing work that I love
Grateful for another day living and breathing and an unwritten future

Have a good day all

Mags, I am happy to hear that. Thanks
Jack, thanks. Yea, I am probably the least techy person you will ever meet. I do have pretty good people skills though. Computer/phone not so much.
My MIL bought us some fresh strawberries several days ago, way too much for us to eat so I am grateful I managed to find Mr. Alpine's and my food dehydrated amongst the boxes and dried them. So I am grateful for dried strawberries. I also dried her nectarines that were getting kind of old. This food dehydrator is pretty old, probably close to 30 years. Wow, did I just say that.
Grateful for a great night's sleep
Grateful my hip is kind of feeling better, not great , but better
Grateful to have done some sewing yesterday
Grateful for all of you

A career change sounds exciting Britbird!
Jack, I’ve had similar observations with circles of friends. I’m also glad that my own experience has made me less judgmental
Alpine, fresh strawberries!
Grateful to be up an hour before the alarm. That’s 3:30 am here. Not grateful for lack of sleep but nice to not be rushed preparing to leave to airport. Mr Charlie char char (my cat/cog) for those who don’t know, has not been himself since yesterday. Of course, the day before a big trip! He hasn’t been eating as much. Woke up this morning to sound of him vomiting. Mostly hair ball, nothing unusual for him. And he is eating some, and drank some water, and is now sitting by the fireplace doing his usual thing. Nothing crazy. The house sitter was going to start tomorrow but we will ask her to come today. Will let her know what to look out for and she has all the vet info just in case. Not a word about this to sonny boy on the trip. Just trusting all will work out the way it’s supposed to
Grateful little ms Daisy is sitting on my lap purring away ❤️
Grateful got covid negative test results in time for trip
Grateful it looks like Free and I will both be in Alaska on overlapping dates 😊
Grateful so much for all of you!

Least, so nice to see you here! Been thinking of you and wondering how you are getting on.
CP/Free, yes the podcast is called “Home” and I listen to it on Souundcloud. I will say it’s probably targeted more to women but if you can get through that layer mentally, there are some real gems in there. It’s a lot of the two co-hosts talking but sometimes they interview other people. Everyone from Sarah Hepola to Ann Dowsett Johnson to Annie Grace so far. They have sort of differing perspectives on recovery and that is useful to hear as well.
Alpine that pic! The unbridled joy! I just love it. Great job capturing it.
Jack, love “unwritten future.” I have to try and remember I’m not too old to have one of those.
Fearless sorry for your extra early wake up and the cog worries. Hoping all will go very well!

Grateful that this hotel room I got for super cheap through Costco is really nice. And there IS coffee in the room. After a spate of hotels without coffee I thought everyone had lost their minds a bit.
Grateful modern technology allowed me to watch my daughter’s dance convention showcase virtually.
Grateful this hotel is also right next to a lot of stuff I can just walk to.
Grateful for some inspiring (and one not so inspiring) visits to some of our member organizations yesterday.
Grateful for some bonding with work colleagues.
Grateful for a pretty okay night of sleep.
Grateful it’s only a couple of days until we fetch my son.
Grateful for all of you.

Grateful for a nice visit with some old friends/co-workers last night. Rehashing old stories that have been told many, many times in the past still bring smiles and laughter.
Grateful for the quote on Mags signature line regarding change. Printing it off and putting it on my mirror. Never too old to change.
Grateful for a trip to the zoo (technically farmstead) with the granddaughter this morning. Which will include a late morning bowl of rainbow sherbet. Not telling her mom........
Grateful for a new bag of coffee beans that showed up in the mail yesterday. Nicaragua is the featured country this month.
Grateful for all of the fun trips that you guys are embarking on.
Grateful for our little community.

Grateful for a quick drive by here
Grateful for coffee
Grateful for another hike today
Grateful hubby agreed to quit golfing yesterday after I hit a golfer with a ball. I felt terrible
Grateful that the bloat and dehydration I feel is from over snacking last night, and not giving in to drinking. It reminds me of how much growth I have yet to do, and what a tendency I have sometimes to punish myself, Not doing it with alcohol, never again going there.
Grateful for all of you here
Grateful completed 10 months sobriety yesterday

Free, one time I hit my best friend with a tee shot, breaking the pencil that was in his shorts pocket. An inch or two from him never having to worry about having kids in the future, if you know what I mean. Anyway, it happens. Congrats on 10 months.

Alpine - A food dehydrater? Never thought to do that - you are clever.
Fearless - Yes, of course there are kitty health issues just before the trip. Hoping Mr. C is back to normal soon.
ClearPath - Rainbow Sherbet - that's considered fruit, right?
Grateful for unbroken sleep, even if it might have been due to melatonin.
Grateful for MrHev's neverending patience.
Grateful for optimism & faith.
Grateful for US & all the interesting posts.

Hevyn, we have dehydrated a lot of things and have made or own fruit rollups. Have dried spg sauce to carry when we go backpacking, way lighter to carry and nothing really to dispose of after.

Free congrats on 10 months!
Jack I like the "unwritten Future" comment too.
Alpine you are so multi talented.
CP sounds like a nice outing with your grand.
NL I am glad your hotel is above your expectations.
Hev glad you got good sleep.
Fearless I hope your kitty is okay. I have one that throws up pretty regularly. We give her medicine for fur balls and that helps a lot.
I am trying not to feel sorry for myself because I know so many people going on some wonderful trips this weekend. We will have a staycation. I will try to get my husband to stay home for two days and not work. We have pool, tennis, biking, hiking we can do here.

Grateful I have all I need. Food, shelter, family, friends, love.
Grateful for some fun tennis yesterday and I won all three sets.
Grateful for my sobriety.
Grateful my boss does not micro manage me.
Grateful for some more rain. My cucumbers are so happy.
Grateful for SR and the GP.

Jack, I was a big Northern Exposure fan too. Your reminder just sent me down a rabbit hole of researching why it's not available on streaming services. (Music licensing problems). I might spring for the DVD set even though not all the original music is included.
Hev, I'm on day 2 of healthy food, and I hope it sticks for me this time, too.
Fearless, hope Mr. Charlie char char gets well very soon, so you don't have to worry on your vacation!
Grateful that although I only got 6 hrs sleep, the quality of it looks a little better (on my fitbit) since starting CPAP. That's a grati-whine and a TMI health disclosure bundled into one - you're welcome!
Grateful for the hardware store worker who helped me figure out I could repair my garden hose (replace nozzle) instead of buying a whole new hose. Grateful to get some household projects done yesterday and today.
Grateful to realize that my life-long fear of participating on boards and committees (due to feeling like I have nothing useful to say, and no opinions), is something I can choose to work on, and maybe my therapist can help me with it.
Grateful to watch the movie "Belfast" last night -- very touching and enjoyable.
Grateful for this group.
