Sohard’s gratitude list
I’m grateful for SR friends like Least, who has been espousing the importance of gratitude for years and I’ve finally just started listening. Okay Least, you’re right. I need to start practicing this religiously.
1. I feel grateful for Least’s persistence
2. For another SR friend named Mac who has helped get me this far
3. For my family (my dog included!)
4. For my health
5. For my perseverance
I will update this list daily. It just might help to save my life.

Welcome to the Grat Pack! The great thing about gratitude is that it multiplies. The more you are grateful for, the more you find to be grateful for.
Glad to see you! Come here often.

Thanks for the welcome!
Right now I’m grateful for
1. sober mornings
2. a job I love
3. my twin sister and My mom
4. that despite the past bumpy month, I’ve maintained my sobriety
5. for the knowledge that each bumpy time I make it through will give me more strength and fortitude for future bumpy times

I'm so pleased to read your new gratitude list thread, Sohard. Least is so, so very wise. I now write mine in a little pink journal-book, but when I first started last year, I wrote here, for accountability and because the people are really lovely and gave hope!

Tatsy - I was actually thinking I'd buy myself a little journal-book, as you called it. Like you, though, I'm going to start here for the accountability and hope. I need all the help I can get.

I will! I forgot to tell you...she was attacked by two pit bulls about a week and a half ago. THANK GOD she had on a heavy duty (bc she used to be an escape artist) harness that literally saved her life. It was horrific, but she is just fine. The shocking thing is she escaped from their clutches after they tore the harness from her, and then she went sprinting to the dog park fence. I have absolutely no clue how, but she got herself under the wire and saved herself. I tried to climb the fence (no luck at all) and then sprinted barefoot to the fence door (I’d been wearing flip flops!) on the opposite side of the park, which is about the size of a soccer field. Amazingly, my dog ran alongside the opposite side of the fence with me, even though the pit bulls were running with me too!, rather than flee panicked into the woods. I couldn’t believe she didn’t leave me despite being so scared and bitten and also all scratched up by the fence. By the time I got to the fence door, I started kicking the pit bulls when their owner finally got to us and jumped in along with some other folks. It was a true nightmare. But they got the dogs under control, I opened the door and bent down on the ground, and there was my little pup shivering and waiting for me. We were so, so, so lucky.
Ironically, multiple people mentioned that afternoon how I had to go home and get a large drink (the animal control man we called, the veterinary’s assistant, etc.). Actually, though, there’s no way I would’ve been able to handle any of it, before during or after, if I’d been hung over or drinking.
