Grateful for a few moments to post (I kind of overslept).
Grateful for the library and especially the fancy scanners that you can use to check out your own books and when you bring books back. Was thinking about this yesterday and it made me remember a summer a long time ago when I volunteered at the public library. I got to stamp the books being checked out. So satisfying!
Grateful to be working remotely today (Mr. NL having a colonoscopy).
Grateful my headache is not booze related.
Grateful to be here and for another day to try and be a kind person.

I hope Mr NL procedure goes well, Numblady! My husband and I both had our screening a few years ago. What an experience that was! It was nice to have a big meal before the fasting day (we called it the last supper), and another nice meal with ice cream for dessert afterwards when we felt better. All of this without weight gain. In fact we both lost 3 lbs.
Grateful there was hardly any wind yesterday and took an afternoon nap outside
Grateful to have the suicide conversation with sonny boy. We talked about my family history and suicide in general. Even discussed assisted suicide/death with dignity, which is a pretty different issue, but came up because my Uncle died fro, cancer just before the law was passed in CA and he had been hoping to be eligible. Son also brought up bullying including cyber bullying and suicide. He had heard of a twelve year old who jumped off a bridge after a cyber bully incident. This also led to a conversation about social media. Needless to say, it was a long talk. Son said he was very glad I brought it up and that I was honest about what happened with my brothers.
Interesting as I type this, they are just talking on the news about the rise in suicide by train!
Grateful for a little cooler weather predicted today
Grateful to have slept well uninterrupted
Grateful my tummy ache is not due to a hangover
Grateful to be meeting a friend for a chai latte later this morning
Grateful to be valued at work
Grateful to have time to clean the house, do the laundry and run errands all throughout the day because of work flexibility (though it also means I’ll probably have some work to do over the weekend, lol)

Grateful for a safe drive back from SLC yesterday, for work.

Grateful to fly to Montana this afternoon to spend the weekend camping with my oldest (longest-serving!) buddy, who is 8 months sober. We've been best friends since Boy Scouts.

Grateful for my friends.

Fearless - You did your son a huge favor. Well done.
Good luck to MrNL. Never fun, but so necessary.
Grateful I went to doc - blood pressure is very high. Changes will be made.
Grateful to be clearheaded to deal with stuff.
Grateful I no longer have to do damage control. So draining.
Grateful for the colorful summer world.
Grateful for YOU.

Fearless, Grateful your talk with sonny boy went well.

Grateful to wake up sober. Grateful that Billie's vet appt is this afternoon and hoping we find out what's causing her scratching.

Fearless That sounds like an intense talk. Your son is so very intelligent. I'm so sorry about the suicides. In some ways, I'm sure the talk may have been difficult for you, but maybe a relief too. Grateful you are here with us. ♥
Grateful for a day where I have to vacuum and a couple of other things. I have been so very tired lately, grateful I can rest a bit today. Grateful the headache I woke up with isn't from drinking!
Mags, so glad you found bedtime gratitude! We will look forward to see you, I know I will especially! ♥
Grateful for all of you and wishes for a wonderful day! ♥♥♥

Numblady, hope all goes well for Mr.NL’s procedure.

Fearless, it’s marvellous you had a suicide conversation with sonny boy.

Aly, thanks! I really appreciate the gratitude threads, it was a nice surprise to see you there too!

Grateful my dream last night was just a dream. We had bought a house that needed so much renovation, it stressed me out. Though it was a beautiful house with many ‘nooks and crannies’ that I loved. A bittersweet dream really.
Grateful I saw the big full moon this morning, so perfect, I felt I could touch it.
Grateful for another sober day.
Grateful for all the GratPaks.

Numblady I hope your husbands colonoscopy went well, not the most pleasant of procedures, I know.

Fearless, that was a very deep and meaningful discussion you had with your son, I'm glad it went well, you did yourself proud.

Grateful for another sober Friday morning.
Grateful to be up really early and have time to post in peace.
Grateful for a lovely cup of morning tea.
Grateful my mum is going on an outing with her friends today.
Grateful g.son no. 1 ( our Sheldon) wasn't perturbed in the slightest at finishing last in his 800 metre race at his school sports day yesterday. I'm so proud that he even ran as he doesn't have good coordination skills.
Grateful that he finishes school at lunch time today until September and I will have some quality time with him this afternoon until we collect the other 2. I think McDonalds for lunch is on the cards.
Grateful Hevyn went to see her doctor about her high blood pressure. Look after yourself Hevyn.
Grateful Least had a vets appt for Billie, I hope you got some answers re her itching.
Grateful Aly realises she needs to rest some, be careful sweetheart. x
Grateful of Mags description of the moon, I wish I'd have seen it, I love the moon.
Grateful to see my lovely class mate Erratic here this morning. x
Grateful for each and every one of you here on my favourite thread. xx

Numblady - ditto what Daisy said re your husband's colonoscopy. Necessary but not at all pleasant experience.

Hope you're OK Hevyn.

Fearless - brave conversation and impressive to be able to have that level of trust/engagement/honesty with your boy.

Aly - hope you can take it a bit easy today.

Grateful to have arrived at our hotel safely with no flight or other transport problems etc on the way
Grateful for the truly great weather here
Grateful to have not even opened the door of the mini bar in our room. We've stayed in this hotel once before as it happens and when we went to check out and pay the mini bar bill, the receptionist said you had a fun evening, based on the number of mini bottles of wine consumed. My husband kindly refrained from saying he hadn't drunk any of the wine! Embarrassing and now firmly in the past.
Grateful to have a day ahead of walking and exploring
Ultra grateful and thankful to have finally achieved a month without a single alcoholic drink, or liquer chocolate come to that! So, so pleased.

I wish you all an excellent day.

Rose way to go on a whole month alcohol free! Excited for you as the time keeps adding up.
Thank you all for the kind words re: Mr. NL’s procedure. All went well. Just seeing him there on the bed in the little gown with all the tubes and the beeping, my heart just kind of filled...thinking of all we’ve been through together and how I love him as a person...aaaaand then when he got done with the procedure he wanted to take an Uber to meet friends for lunch and drink margaritas after hearing the nurse tell him no alcohol for 24 hours and knowing that he was going to be out drinking heavily that evening (again, against my recommendation). And i was ready to strangle him. Fortunately I talked him out of it and we had a nice lunch.
Aly glad you are taking it easy.
Least hope they can get to the bottom of the scratching.
Fearless what a talk! Sounds like a very healthy discussion.

Grateful I’m past dependence on alcohol and doing stupid things like drinking after a colonoscopy.
Grateful for this little Japanese store where you can try out an entire aisle of pens to see which one you like.
Grateful for good pens.
Grateful vacation is coming on Sunday.
Grateful for Dee and all the mods. One of my classmates posted a link to our conversations from a year ago and there was Dee in all his wisdom as we fretted over our stressful lives reminding us that the graveyard is full of indispensable people. I can’t stop repeating it to myself now.
Grateful to my SR classmates (Jan 2018).
Grateful to all of you for your wisdom, kindness and insights.

Rose - When you mentioned mini bar I thought of the scene in the movie 'Flight'.
As you said, firmly in the past.
Daisy - How great g.son wasn't upset about his finish. His attitude's all that matters.
Zip - Yes sir - we are gonna fry.
Numblady - I love how you feel about MrNL. Back in the day I would've definitely been drinking right after the procedure. After all, I deserved it.... Grateful you talked him out of a drinking lunch.
Grateful for AC, even though it's just a small one. Going to be an oven around here next few days.
Grateful to be eating sensibly using less salt. Now I have to - no choice.
Grateful for understanding & compassion. All too rare I'm afraid.
Grateful for our group & all that we share.

Grateful to sleep in a bit today. I've been so tired.
Grateful for my volunteering at ARF from 3-5 today, which is coming up quickly. Today is laundry/disinfecting day, I think.
Hev, take care with your HBP. I have it too, yet I have low sodium and potassium. It runs on my dad's side of the family. Grateful it is under control, even if it is with meds.
Rusty, good luck with your gig tonight! How fun!
Grateful for all of you! ♥♥♥
