Grateful to feel well rested and ready to get started on my to-do list for the day.
Grateful that my MIL is in good hands and has supportive and loving family members; praying for healing and peace of mind.
Grateful for coworkers who "get it" and then who get it done.
Grateful that spouse has planted a garden and the veggies are doing well (so far, so good). So looking forward to fresh greens for our salads.

Grateful for good humor here, especially about the weight loss. I’m not on a diet but my cat is. He lost 1/8 of a pound last week. Woot woot!
Deserto, you seem to have a fun life!
Anaya, thanks for the topic of the veggie garden. I need to get mine going again. I was a bad plant parent last year
Thanks so much for posting that inspiration, Daisy. Love it!
Numblady, I’m really enjoying the book- Living Well Despite Adversity. I had thought it was going to be self help tips from the author. But it’s actually a collection of interviews she did with people, some well known, about their own struggles with adversity. There’s lots of different topics including raising kids with special needs (the author herself has a special needs child and is a parent coach), people living with autism or other disabilities (the Temple Grandin interview is amazing), and a chapter on addiction and finding purpose through paying it forward. In general, all of these folks are living a highly emotionally sober/intelligent life (whether or not they struggled with addiction). Anyway, there’s my book review. I struggle with being concise . Highly recommend

Grateful I have a meeting in a little while with a very difficult client. I have another all day one tomorrow with a different difficult client. These meetings stress me out but they also make me stronger professionally (and emotionally ). The one I’m seeing tomorrow, well, I used to drink before the meetings if you can believe that (2 glasses of wine in the parking lot at 9:30 am. No joke)
Grateful I don’t do that anymore.
Grateful my son didn’t complain too much about first full day of camp yesterday
Grateful son is also spending time doing math and reading on his own accord even though it’s summer break
So grateful for all of you!

Grateful for my fun life. Thanks Fearless for the reminder!

On the flip side, grateful to snooze on the couch from 9 to 11 pm, because I can, and because my fun life can wear me out.

Grateful to be rested in a way that I never was in the years (decades!) of drinking.

Grateful to be going to my CBT class this morning.
Grateful for A/C. It is going to be hot today. It is after 8 am and it's already hot here.
Grateful for Rule 62, thanks to Rusty.
Grateful to be here and sober and with all of you on our sober journey. ♥♥♥

Fearless Kitty - Congrats on your 1/8 lb. loss. Keep it goin'.
Daisy - I loved that - very encouraging. We all need to feel we haven't wasted our precious time, & that we matter.
Numblady - I drank like that too, thinking it was helping. Can't believe I somehow justified it.
Aly - I hope CBT class gives you a lift.
Grateful - I suppose - for the rain. At least it's not hot & steamy.
Grateful I didn't kill any of the flowers I planted - so far.
Grateful for a shopping trip tomorrow.
Grateful every day that I found SR almost 12 yrs. ago. It has enriched my life.

Fearless, great book review as far as I am concerned! Can’t wait to check it out.
Daisy, cool quote. I think a lot about how people who annoyed me when I was sober are regularly inspirational to me sober.

Grateful for some late evening swimming. It didn’t exactly make for a smooth bedtime since we left the pool so late, but seeing the lights on in the pool and having it not be crowded were super relaxing.
Grateful my kids don’t wake me up in the night all that much anymore. sure isn’t fun when they do!
Grateful for parent friends.
Grateful to be meeting some old friends for breakfast this morning.
Grateful to have some quiet time to post.
Grateful for coffee. Slept so poorly last night I feel like my brain is stuck.
Grateful for you and all your inspirational thoughts, quotes, and stories.

Numblady - You reminded me of all the times I woke my parents up because of a bad dream. They were never angry, always patient. I don't think I ever said thank you.
Grateful for a trip to town for groceries & stuff. (Remembering all the times I took liquid refreshment with me... )
Grateful for the wonderful variety of birds that grace us with their presence. They carry on, oblivious to what's going on in the world.
Grateful for all who will visit this thread today - you are so special.

Grateful to beat traffic since my husband changed work schedule to handle morning routine with sonny boy
Grateful to have time to stop at local starbx for a mocha and read your grats before my meeting. Grateful aim drinking coffee, not wine, at 9:30 am
Grateful for the time I did Toastmasters. It’s given me more self confidence in many situations, especially work meetings.
Grateful for all of you!
