Thanks for sharing the great photo, FBL! So nice. And a belated Happy Birthday wish to your mom. My dear mama turned 85 this past Saturday, who also has three sons and three lovely daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, a bunch of grandkids and great grandkids; oh yeah -- and lil' old me.

We're so very fortunate! Along with RZ, I am grateful for all the good mamas.

happy birthday to your lovely mum F.B.L, she looks amazing, everyone should look like that at 82. xx

I hope your meeting went went well Fearless, thinking about you. xxx

2.5 hours is a long time for anyone to sit Numblady, let alone a child. You did well. Awww I just read your next post, I'm so very sorry about your son getting suspended from after school care and I hope that what ever happened can be resolved.

Grateful to be sober, hangover and guilt free this morning, it's a good feeling.
Grateful to do the school run safely.
Grateful to wave g.son no 1 off on his school residential trip, he was happy, chatty and flapping his arms with excitement, bless him, if he flapped any harder he'd be flying to his destination, lol. I pray these next few days go well for him.
Grateful to buy some solar lights to put round my trellis in the garden.
Grateful to get my bits of shopping put away.
Grateful for coffee whilst I'm posting.
Grateful Jhay has joined the Gratpack.
Grateful for all the bullying awareness in schools, but sad that it's needed.
Grateful to you all for your kindness and support.

Daisy - I hope g.son has a fabulous time & brings home great memories.
Grateful for the beautiful day - even if we did have to turn the heat on.
Grateful that being older isn't what I thought - I'm still 25 at heart.
Grateful for the resilience & determination on display here.
Have a wonderful one.

Aly, I’m sorry about your experience in the housing crisis. I have other friends this happened to as well. Yes to Tiny homes!
Numblady, I am glad you got through and sorry about your son. My son was suspended from school once - it was years ago for throwing rocks and breaking a window. This too shall pass.
Grateful Daisy’s g.son is happy!

Grateful my husband let me sleep in. He still put the coffee on my night stand. It was cold by the time I woke up but it doesn’t matter. The special way he makes it tastes good hot or cold
Grateful to still be processing my emotions from a long awaited school meeting about my son. Still experiencing an array of mixed feelings from happiness and sadness to pride and humility, relief, uncertainty, worry, excitement. The meeting did not have the expected or initially desired outcome, but in the end everyone came to a consensus about the best solution. It was the first time in many years that I felt understood, to have my concerns and beliefs validated 100%. My husband and I were told years ago that our son is a “twice exceptional” child with high functioning Aspergers and highly gifted. It sounds like a good fancy title. Who doesn’t want to have an exceptional gifted child, right? But it’s a bit of a misnomer because it is actually very challenging. My son has anger, anxiety, depression, and sensory issues which can be scary. To not feel comfortable talking about this, and feeling judged has led to so many feelings of isolation which was partly why I drowned myself in alcohol for years.
Grateful to have the necessary school administrators on my side and to have a clear plan moving ahead.
Grateful I did not drink last night and instead ate pizza and sweets
Grateful for the reminder that it’s best that I avoid sugar and carbs because of how I feel this morning!
Grateful for all of you, for being a sounding board for me, that I never feel judged or alone when I come here.

(((Numblady))) Like Fearless said (and I live by it sometimes): this too will pass.

That is very cute of your son setting up the viewing area. Sometimes their cuteness just breaks your heart. ♥♥♥

Daisy, grateful your g.son set off on the outdoor adventure and that the bully did not deprive him of this exciting trip.
Fearless, hugs. I think parental isolation (and for me deep feelings of failure and disappointment) were such a huge part of why I sunk lower and lower into the wine abyss. I am glad you met the feelings head on or at least that you followed them with pizza not booze.
Grateful for all your kind words about my son and things passing. It does feel like some clouds are lifting.
Grateful to have signed my son up for a wilderness overnight camp last night and to have his input on how to fill out the survey about his needs. I had written that he struggled in school and he reminded me how well he did on his tests. I was crestfallen at not having phrased it more positively but it’s just a great reminder to keep instilling confidence in him for being successful in school and not dwelling on the problems. We had a great time describing his passions and interests....finding rocks, his grandpa, his cats, rescuing animals, avoiding baths, etc.
Grateful to be nearing the finish line with the legislature though with new drama every day. At least there can only be so many more days of drama before it’s done.
Grateful for modern medicine. Kind of feel like I have strep throat but hoping it’s just a virus that will pass quickly.
Grateful for all of you and to be able to come here and shake off isolation and soak up positivity.

Numblady - That sounds like a great adventure for your son.
Fearless - I'm glad it was a good meeting with a mostly positive outcome. Having people listen & understand means everything.
Grateful for a trip to the garden center to buy some loveliness.
Grateful to know you'll always be here each morning.
