Grateful to reflect on a year of tremendous growth in my recovery. Now more than ever, I am sharing the gifts that have been so freely given to me.

Grateful for another day sober.

Grateful for yoga.
Grateful for the digital age where I can stream thousands of yoga classes by amazing teachers any time I want.
Grateful I tried, I mean really tried, the arm balance. I held it a nanosecond and then literally fell on the floor and as I landed happy little tears seeped out of my eyes.
Grateful for the ridiculousness and joy of trying to be in savasana while my daughter banged around making crafts and my three legged cat tried to smell all parts of my face just in case something had changed.
Grateful for a soft rain falling as I finished, which brought me a memory I had forgotten from a long time ago. It is the middle of the night (3 a.m.). I have just given birth to my second child (at home, with a trained midwife). A soft rain is falling outside and I am holding her while I eat a popsicle. It feels as though all is right in the world. I always remember that rain because it was a year of great drought and was just about the last time it rained for about ten months.
Grateful for rain in general.
Grateful I woke up at 5:00 before my alarm went off because I just woke up.
Grateful I just heard the term Grat Pack!

Welcome numblady and thanks for the chuckle about the yoga posture and your cat. My cats do that to me too
Grateful to be up early in a Sunday and have time to read some bits of wisdom on SR before a busy day of travel and visiting family
Grateful to start thinking about NY resolutions
Grateful I have reached an age where I am comfortable in my own skin and don’t care much about what others think (much of this due to my sobriety). Grateful to be thinking for myself and making my own choices.

Grateful to be having plans to see my daughter in prison tomorrow evening and on New Year’s Day.
Grateful to have my overwhelming fear and anxiety be much less than it was two weeks ago.
Grateful to be remaining no contact with narcissistic ex boyfriend
Grateful to read about “the gray rock method“ in dealing with difficult people
Grateful to have the opportunity to fly to Colorado and check out a job there at the end of this week
Thanks for humor!

Grateful for a sober Sunday morning with no hangover.
Grateful I noticed I put on about 4 pounds over the holidays! Grateful (well, trying to be) to get on that right away. I see the good surgeon next week and he won't like that, nor do I.
Grateful for all of you and this thread. So much support. ♥♥♥

Oh, the horror Aly. Hev has probably put on 40 lbs.
(Seriously, we will take it off.)
Grateful for Numblady's sweet recollections.
Grateful for contentment - it eluded me for years.

Grateful that my little cat is delighted to see me when I get up.
Grateful to be having a lovely cup of tea whilst I'm posting.
Grateful to have clean clothes to wear.
Grateful to be here.

Grateful to be up as of 4:30 a.m. for a workout.
Grateful that unlike this time last year I don’t have to squirrel breath mints in my shirt in case the booze smell came out of my pores or still possibly enebriated mouth while I did it.
Grateful my solitary New Year’s Resolution involves being more protective of my own needs by finding a different path with my job.
Grateful my daughter had a friend to sleep over last night and when she couldn’t sleep I would have been able to drive her home whenever without having to worry if I had any booze in my system, or having to get her mom to come get her because in the back of my mind I knew it probably wasn’t right to drive.
Grateful for the super power of driving whenever I feel like it (or even when I don’t).
Grateful I took typing in junior high.
grateful that when my parents got into town last night and everyone was having a drink to take the edge off I didn’t feel like I was missing a cotton picking thing.
Grateful for this forum and the support in here!!

Grateful to be sober.

Grateful for safe flights to Venice and now Athens.

Grateful to have spent time with my oldest (er, longest-serving?) friend in Venice over Christmas and my coworker and his wife for a few days here.

So incredibly to-the-ends-of-the-earth grateful I finally quit drinking forever in 2018.

Grateful for eight months sober (and change).

Happy New Year to everyone in the Grat Pack!

Free, good luck with your visit today with your daughter. Sounds a little stressful.
Grateful to feel connected, and uplifted here and to read all your shares
Grateful that I don’t have to prove myself because I know who I am
Grateful to be thinking about what I want to accomplish in the new year ahead.
Grateful for all of you and happy sober new year!
