Grateful for A Seizure

As crazy as it sounds, I am grateful that my AH had a seizure. He was forced to go to the emergency room and was told straight up by a Christian doctor that his liver numbers were bad, his liver was on the verge of being damaged beyond repair, and that Jesus Christ is his Savior and He can break any bonds. It was exactly what my AH needed to hear and he has quit drinking finally. I've never seen a seizure before and it was so scary, but today I am thankful because our home is alcohol-free.

I'm glad your husband quit drinking, LovePeaceSushi.

Seizures are indeed quite scary and dangerous.

Sometimes, miracles come in strangely wrapped packages.

They are scary! Glad things are going well and hope it continues.

That is wonderful, LPS!

Thanks, ya'll. He went back to drinking after 17 days sober. We argued about him drinking again and he bit me. I sent him to his parents and they got to see for the first time how bad their "perfect" son is. BUT, it helped my husband see that he needed to detox and go to rehab to get his wife and family back, so he is currently checked in to a rehab clinic. I'm grateful for that today.

Sorry you're having to go through all this. Hopefully he pulls himself out of this by realizing all the good things that are at risk(not to mention his life) by continuing drinking. Almost 2 years ago I had a withdrawl seizure in front of my wife. She got me medical help, and when I woke up in the ER with her looking at me, I just knew that I was never going to do that to her ever again. Been sober since that day, and my life and our marriage has never been better. I hope your husband is able to realize the same things soon.
