There is so much bad stuff in the world - corrupt governments, corrupt companies, addiction, mass shootings, etc etc. But there is a lot of good in the world too- people giving back, people doing the right thing. I read somewhere that our mind has a negativity bias, that we are programmed to pay attention to the bad stuff. I am grateful for all the good and am going to work on focusing more on that. Reminds we of the WestWorld quote: some people choose to see the ugliness in the world, the disarray. I choose to see the beauty, to believe in an order, a purpose ... Maybe it’s a bit pollyannish, but I’m going with that for today 😊. TGIF

I've read about the negative bias too. I guess it helped people survive when they rather chose to pay attention to the danger of the sabre tooth tiger than the beauty of the sunrise.
It can get a lot though and I feel a lot of people are very pessimistic, cynical and negative these days. Seems so easy to choose that path. I try my best to re-train my brain to focus more on the good stuff too. It's hard work but I believe it will pay off.
