Gratitude
Being sober for 29yrs and no longer in the black hole for a few 24hrs I thank GOD everyday. I am realizing that I really understand what it means when you can become complacent.and .. you shouldn't rest on your laurels.... since my sobriety in 89 I was always working. That didn't give me much time to attend a lot of meetings... since laid off 2013
.. Being with an active boyfriend for 4yrs and me not going to.meetings I became complacent... and rested on my laurels. I was dry.. from 2013 to May 0f 2017... now I am blessed to be able to attend as many meetings as I can fit in. I can accept my dry time and move on with my recovery. It aggravates me when people on long island my say. That person with 29yrs should sound better than that. Only on the north shore this is at. I hold back pray. I repeat... with thoughts like that... That person will relapse.... but for the grace of God it won't be me.... GRATITUDE IS AN EASY DAILY THING.
