1. A greater sense of acceptance and peace that drinking is not available to me....weekends have always been my Achilles heel....today, despite a friend's 50th party tonight, it doesn't fill me with conflict and self pity that I can't participate in the boozing side of it. Reluctant even to write this as I don't want to put the hex on it but it feels like acceptance

4. The fact that there is still a drop of 'hope', despite years of evidence to the contrary that Everton may yet win at Anfield today.
